Here at work my buddy is going to a new location. He happens to visit a shit load of porn sites I guess and wants to get rid of it. Is there a way to get rid of it from the hard drive besides erasing history, caches, add ons etc. when you dont have administrator access? If so let me know cause he is leaving wednesday and they take the computers after the employee has left for whatever they do. I also would like to know cause I have clicked on NSFW links through this site at work and dont know if its stored in my computer or if I even need to worry about it. Any help would be great thanks!

Erasing history / recent sites visited / cached pages will clear the most of it. it will access those directories on the HD and erase them.

After that he can browes a bunch of stuff to try to refill the stuff so it looks like it hasn't been modified. However I doubt the it guys really care about that, they have other things to keep up with... (like a WOW account or something LoL) or a network.,

Its like taking your car to the shop, and worring about little pieces of pot you dropped in your carpet. I doubt the mechanic is going to go thru your shit that in depth, and call the cops etc..

but, if he is on the it guys hit list. your in trouble..

LoL..

The files that got saved on the computer while he was logged in were written to the HD with his cridentals, which means he should have all the credientals to erase everything he put on there.

but on TOP, all his activity gets logged on the remote server which he does not have access to... like said above, if they're trying to get rid of him, im sure they can dig this up

Really?

If they were suspicious or anything they'd have already started logging your machine.

More than likely they've already got all your net traffic logged and could bust you on that one.

You can delete all the data you want... but more than likely it's archived if the company has an IT department that is worth their salaries.

Chances are, unless you're doing it 99% of the time... or something ridiculous I wouldn't worry about it.

We in IT generally have a thousand other things that are more important than our lusers browsing midget amputee porn.

the IT department can't be that strict. they should have restricted the internetz from the get go. it sounds like it's wide open if you can browse the pRonz. and yes all the internet activity is usually logged on a separate server so you can clean out your cache and cookies but the sites you've been to have been logged somewhere else. ccleaner is a good program for cleaning out your cache and other stuff.

Reformat/Erase the HD and start off fresh. Unless you want to go through and find all the registry keys that don't be long there.
