nope....245-40-17 requires a 8" wide wheel minimum.



the chance of damaging the wheels finish goes way up...and the tire will have wear issues since it will be crowned

Been there done that. Right now Im at 235/45... Wanna go wider. Getting some 8 inch wheels soon. :)

when i first got 17's i was crazy and ran 245/45 on a 17x7 but it looked super dumb lol
you can get away with a 17x8 but 225/45 is the perfect size for your wheel size. I used it for auto x and it's not bad. If you don't mind me askin why you want to go so wide is it traction issues?

No traction and I like the look. I was asking for my buddy. I think Im just gonna stick with the 235. Im getting 17x8 with a 38mm offset and I wanted to see what size I should get for the new set up for my car as well.

i am running a 205/40/17 on a 7.5 inch wheel. it fits fine no weird side wall or anything. you should be ablw to use them. thats the size that comes with most 17X7.5 inch combo's

Im looking at 245 though which is 40 mm wider than 205. 205 is nothing.
