Markings under the head right underneath the valve cover.
But I'm not sure what they are for that.

And It could possibly could be told by the stamp on the block left of the headers.

i should have P5P on the pistons, camgears. should have a red valve cover (i think). headers are different. plus i think there are other markings not sure though

real type S h22 has single plane intake manifold not the iab system of the normal h22. like gsr (iab) vs b16 (single plane).
these are VERY rare motors though. only ever had one come in.

You are thinking of a Euro R motor which has the single plane manifold. The Type S motor looks just like the normal H22. Both of which the Euro R and the Type S have the red valve cover.

Euro R had the blue top and the Type S has a red top.

EuroR has:
11:1 compression
Type-S Head
T2W4 Transmission w/ LSD
Single Runner Intake Manifold

Type-S has:
11:1 compression
Type-S Head
ATTS instead of LSD
SH transmission
PMFI dual runner intake manifold

the F20B and the H23 Vtec has the blue top. the Euro R was in the Red top
