Any body know if there are warranty issues with lowering springs , intake , header, and cat-back exhaust on a 08 fit sport? will it void my warranty? and one more thing, the salesman told me that my tires and wheels were covered for the life of the car, and he told me that after market wheels would be also, i was just wondering if that was true, and if any body else has this? i just got my fit yesterday and love it. traded in WRX for the fit. well thanks for looking and replying.:wave1:

well i can put it to you this way my 08 was making a nosie so i took it into the dealer to get it looked at before looking at the car at all they asked what had i done to it they asked if i put an itake on or and exhast they were pretty much looking for an aftermarket reasont to blame the problem on my car is stock except for lowering spring and thats the way it will stay til the warranty is expired so i dont have to deal with any BS if something happens.

If you want more info, go to Hondata's website and check out what they say about warranty and ECU stuff. It is interesting.

As long as the aftermarket part is not responsible for the failure of the part.. It is still legally covered nder warranty

yea.. as long as ur not using poor quality parts.. now if u use spring that will probably void suspension warranties. and if u use a intake it will void intake warranties that include intake mani map sensors ect. header would probably void o2 sensor calatic converters.. stuff like that. but other stuff will still be under worranties... but dont get hurt if u take it to a mechanic and they say it voided all ur warranties cuase its illigal, and if they tell u that after market parts cuase other stuff to go out just go somewhere else.

If they say it voids the warranty, remove the aftermarket parts and take it to another dealer :)

The LAW states the part or parts must have caused or contributed to the cause for which the warranty claim is sought. A dealer CANT void a warranty, they can only deny the claim. For a dealer to deny a claim based on the presence of after market alone is also a voilation of federal law and possibly state laws.

Now if they diagnose your car by an ethical diagnostic check and determine that said part(s) are to blame they CAN legally charge you for said diagnostic check.

It's best to research the Magnusson Moss Warranty act.

I would also work with the BBB and the chamber of commerce should you run into trouble. I recommend legal counsel If its a big ticket item.

The service mgr at SanTan Honda said "we'll be happy to look at it and fix the problem if you like" on a clutch issue, "but if we find out the parts caused the problem you're going to owe us for the labor," and I had to sign a work order.

Best wishes!
