AP2s have the rear glass window instead of plastic
i THINK thats 04 and up
but i heard the weight can sometimes gently tear the soft top

It's 2002 and up...and it's not the weight of the glass that tears the soft top, it's the positioning of the mechanism.

so im guessing there is not much you can do about if the soft top tears or not then?

Does the hard top just go over the soft top when its in the down position or do you have to 'remove' the soft top mechanism to attach the hard tops?

If you take it to a dealer, most of the time, they just patch it up....I think superstition springs is the only one in the valley that might replace it.

As far as the hardtop fitment goes, you don't have to remove the softop to put the hardtop on. It just has to be in the down position and you use the existing catchers.

so i might sound dumb asking this.....but if i were to get a hardtop i can still keep my soft top? the only reason i dont want a hardtop is because i want to be able to put the top down whenever and not be stuck rolling with on the hardtop off and leaving my car like that parked somewhere...

Yes, soft top stays in the lowered position with a hardtop, the same as it would if you didn't have a hardtop.

I can't wait for my stock black softtop to rip so I can get the purdy blue factory replacement.

Is there like a defect to the soft top? Does honda replace it?

The only thing that sucks about the hardtop is needing 2 people to get it off. It only weighs like 60lbs, but it's awkward as fuck.

Yea, once my top is on/off it usually stays that way for a while. My gf is really the only one around to help me get it off and she acts like it's some HUGE chore and bitches about anything possible.

As far as i know soft tops are seldom warranty so it's hard to get someone else to pay for it, I also have a laguna blue and will be tearing my black soft top, then notifying insurance and then paying the difference on the blue top. I agree the blue top on laguna blue looks so clean. You have to actually see it rather than trying to picture it.
