Messed around in photoshop with this image today. Obviously I was going for some crazy "pop" and unrealistic background. I have a few more I'm gonna process and try some different ideas, will post a few more later once they are finished.

In retrospect, I wish I would have spent more time composing the image better. I could have placed the car differently and lined things up better. Things to think about on the next shoot.

Comments welcome. Click for full res 1200 wide.

Camera used for first pic: Canon 30d + Sigma 10-20mm. Second pic: Canon 5d + 24-105mm f/4L.

the 10-20mm lens will have that distortion effect.

ahh didn't see that. I haven't taken any car pics with my 10-20 yet :(
Still seems like kind of a weird place on the picture for it though. The distortion I usually see is normally on the outter most portions of my pics. Either way though, I love the car and the pics look good. The last is my favorite.

The after image for the first shot looks great.
Nice job on the processing- increasing the contrast yet keeping it look real

Correct. I have some other shots where the shit gets crazy distorted. There is definately a learning curve with the wide angle. It only really distorts when you are close to the object. I can be about 6 inches from the car and get the entire car in the shot along with a lot of background.

the sigma 10-20mm isn't a fisheye.

Question for Big C though, is your 10-20mm have Macro function?
I have the same one for my Sony and it doesn't have Macro (wish it did though)

Not sure in Elements, I use regular photoshop. Just play with levels, contrast, selective color, that type of stuff.

Shadow/highlight will bring the black in the bricks out as well as the concrete/asphalt.

I dunno, maybe 20-30 mins per pic. Mostly a lot of experimentation.
