I'm just trying to figure out how you all mounted your hid's for those that have them in your oem or projector housing. Since the oems have the slots that clip in for the bulbs. How were you able to put these in and not get them to move? Just thinking about this before I make my final decision and such. Also pictures if someone might be able to throw up a shot or two.

Also for those that do have them. Which would you perfer xentec or iteks. I hear both are great, but I know two people at work that have xentec's and they are really bright and look good. I haven't seen a set of iteks in person, but i'm more leaning towards xentec.

No I just want to see how they fit in the housing so I know where to mount them tools! I'm considering going back to oem housing.

well if you are talking about the HIDs that i gave you with the housings those are the wrong bulb size. you need to get the proper bulbs for the oem housings. I have had problems with xentec ballasts burning up. I would go with itek.

ok do u know the hid bulb are like 1.5 inches tall unfornately they dont fit on the bulb housing thingy inside the light...so what i do is push it outward little bit..and then insert the bulb to see if the bulb is touching it or not..if is touching and if u leave it that way...it intend to burn out fast...

I wish i had pics of mine but since its wrecked....no pictures for you!

The bulbs fit in my projector housings just fine and just let them ballasts hang out behind the headlights since they're on a short wire. And i mean literally lie there i didn't tie them down or anything and they were fine.

the stock OEM headlights make the HIDs have a lot of glare and out put is quite shotty. I prefer the sharp look of projector with HID, myself.... (more of a BMW or Lexus kind of look)

^my $0.02^

i'll probably try it with both. Depending on how court goes today I may have a set by this afternoon.

HID's need to be installed into Projectors other wise they are way to bright. If you have them without projectors you are one of theose people who blind those heading the other way. Projectors obviously make the beam more focused which is needed

I retrofitted mine originally in aftermarket projectors but now I'm just running d2r bulbs in my oem lamps

A write up I did a while back. Almost 2 years on this set up and while the lights have dimmed allitte over time they are still bright and clear. Only thing i have hade to do since was replace 1 fuse that blew (water got on it whle washing the car).

^^ I did it like you, but I retrofitted A4 projectors into the housings and had to build a wiring harness.

BTW my buddy Ryan still has these and he'd sell em for $100 I think.... You'd just need ballasts and bulbs.

Honestly the retro fit does produce an excellent result but it is a ton of work and can be very pricey. Total for my set up was maybe $250 for everything and the result is great. Not retro fit results but again for about half what many retrofits end up costing it is not a bad way to go.

The above headlights are excatly like what I used on my eg and you can see that the color and brightness are great. Cannot really beat the price either.

Maybe, but more expensive projectors yield better/different cut off lines, and better color.
