133 lbs today, 5'11.

It's gettin real old, not gaining weight.

Help...

I eat like crazy, lift, and drink muscle milk. no other supplements, and play ice hockey in the mornings.

another question,
for example bench when i go incline, flat, decline
i usually go like 20lb - 12 reps // 25 lb - 10 reps // 30lb - 8 reps
i heard increasing the weight per set is better for weight gain
anyone else do this?

i really want to get to a plate - 45lbs

skip the decline it's not worth it, and mix it up more then incline & flat, do incline, and dips, or barbell bench and incline dumb bell press, also Big Weight = Big Muscles try doing the 5X5 routine 5 sets of 5 reps each exercise... and when you say 20lbs do you mean 20lbs on each side of the 45lbs bar?

i truly have no idea why there are so many people out there that CANNOT gain weight...are you guys mentally handicapped? that is absolutely absurd and IMPOSSIBLE! all you have to do is fuckin eat like shit and sit around...how hard is that? you say you eat tons already, no you dont! fuckin eat MORE! and sit around MORE! you say you dont want to gain "that kind of weight" which is shitty flabby fatty weight...well quit bitching if you dont want to gain that kind of weight cuz thats the only way to do it! lol didnt mean to get all crazy on you...i was actually trying to be funny...im one of those fat kids on the other side of the spectrum...no matter how much or how less i eat i gain fuckin weight...im 6'3 260lbs and have dreamt to weight under 200 pounds for years!

Honestly you can take this whatever way you want to, but if you can find some spotters try doing weight that you have to struggle on. Try doing something you normally couldn't lift. Take me back in highschool I could lift 200 well my coach would have two spotters and have me do 250. Theres no way in hell I could lift it. I used the negative to help me bulk up in my upper body. I under no circumstance would advise this in anything like squatting, but for arms and upper body I think it works well.

very heavy weight... i mix it up but stick with 10-7-5 warm up....then 5-5-5 max out...and dont waste your time on decline.....its pointless

I've been going everyday when possible but basically as follows
Back // Bicep // upper Abs
Chest // Tricep // lower abs
Legs // Shoulders // traps

and i'll repeat that, if I missed a day I would pick up where I left off.

i stopped playing hockey for 2 seasons and gained 35 lbs! i was so happy, im about to start playing again and hitting the gym.....

I played AA 18 at Peoria until I started going to college, now I'm not playing just back for winter break and just playin pickup and sticktimes.

nothing to that nature...mostly polar ice, ice den, arciadia, and some roller at ASC and the castle. Ice has gotten to be so expensive that its hard to play continueously

when I say i eat like crazy, I just eat throughout the day, anything and everything to try and stay full all day. track you calories figure out how many calories a day you are taking in with your current food & with the current amount of exercise you do, then after you get that figured out add 500-1000 calories a day of good stuff like Oatmeal (Slow cooking not the instant shit) + a quality blended protein, make sure you're getting at least 1 gram of protein for every pound of body weight you have, then ones your appetite adjusts add more protein till you get to about 1.5grams of protein per pound...

The 5x5 program is basically for what ever exercise you are doing figure out how much weight you can do 5 reps with if you can do ten reps with the weight you don't have enough weight on the bar, you should be straining to get that 5th rep every time... Try getting on a good mass gainer. That will help a lot. Also try and keep track of your calorie intake it needs to be like 5,000+ a day. If you want to get big you have got to eat big

LOL your in the same boat as me 135 5' 9" at age 27 . I can eat , drink as much as want and never gain a fucking pound. Went through all the weight gain suppliments and nothing worked . When I was doing Demo work in Maui 7 years ago I found alot of fish helped me gain muscle and weight . When I moved back it all went away , I found eating a good meal breakfast, lunch, dinner helps out alot . I used to eat tuna for lunch and a weight supplment shake with it and found that works good. You metabolism is burning all your calories !

3500 is hard to hit if you're eating clean. If you dirty bulk like a lot of others like to do with fast food and other shit, 5k is extremely low

to gain weght is a science, easyist way to learn how to put on lean mass is to learn how the humen body works. google "catabolic and anabolic" it's a easy way to under stand why you eat so much and still are not gaining.

What you should do is eat less times a day but larger portions of food it will slow down your metabolism and drink a cup of whey protein with 2 scoops after your work outs. Eat a lot of carbs and protein, carbs provide energy and proteins helps muscle gain, like breads, pasta, red meats, penut butter... If you do that and keep working out with the max weight you can push out, high weight less reps, you would gain some good muscle weight... I'm 5'9 200lbs 10% body fat... I recomended this to my friend and since Jan. 1st he weighed 125 he's now at 147...

sweet thread. im 22yrs old at 130lbs and been the same weight since i was 18. been eating large amounts of fast food/home cooked meals. still cant seem to put a pound on. maybe its cause of my marijuana diet nugs?

There are alot of BS posts in here with no real merit to them. Some are really good posts, and you know who you guys are.

You really need to eat 5000-6000 calories a day, including a gallon or two of water a day. You really don't need to bulk clean if you have a high calorie burning metabolism, just make sure you eat at least one gram of protein per pound of GOAL bodyweight, not your current bodyweight. If you want to weigh 185, then eat at least 185 grams of protein, distributed throughout the day.

There is so much to learn about this, go join the bodybuilding.com forums. Your welcome.

more weight + less reps=bigger muscles
less weight + more reps= will get you cut

You also have to keep switching up your workout routines, and finding different ways do excersize the same muscle groups in different ways... do a particular type of exercise for bout 4weeks, then switch up your routine, to excersize the same muscle group a different way, keeps your muscles from plateauing, allowing them to keep recovering, and gaining mass, instead of leveling out, and plateauing. (staying the same, reaching your max)

They dont tell you how long it takes for any of that to happen. could be you would have to do roids for years. Im not gonna do that. but increase in sex drive sounds fine by me. haha
