View Full Version : What compressor and gun?

So I've been getting the urge to learn how to paint lately and wondering what direction I should go in. I realy just want to paint small stuff like fenders and bumpers. But what size compressor and specs should I go with? I know cfm plays a roll depending on the type of gun I use. Any advice on what I should look into getting? thanks:roll:

for small stuff you dont need a lot of cfms but if i were you i would get a compressor that will spray 12 cfm @ 40psi because that will do much bigger stuff too. and harbor freight sells cheap guns for learning. but if you get serious sata spray guns are the only way to go

Homie, why don't you just hit me up , you know I paint.....just easier because of the EPA, City, or HOA can fine you...

EPA up to 10,000
City up to 3,000 per container
HOA between 75-150 or kicked out of neighborhood.

Im authorize to spray where im at by EPA, CITY and my HOA....

i recommend a good LVLP gun if you are running a compressor at or under 35 gallon capacity. I personally use a Sharpe Razor and its the best gun i have ever had. If you do get a gun just dont get any of the Devilbiss Finishline guns, i have had 3 and they all sucked bigtime! everything from spitting to leaking out. sucky guns

Razors and Finishline Guns suck ass....if your gonna paint, go big and get a Sata or an Iwata....not no weak cheap ass guns....

I agree about the finishlines, but i definately disagree about the Razors. Ive been using my Razor for a year or so now and its the best gun i have ever used.
