1991 accord ex

"s" light comes on and when it does it is continuous ( no short or long blinks) But its not every time I start my car, only sometimes. can anyone help?

You might have a problem with the sport shift function either in the switch or in the electrical cause the light should only come on when your in sport shift mode. When there is a trouble code with in the transmission the light will flash.

Would I need a new transmission? Can I just disconnect the sport shift? I want to change my auto shifter anyway. Let me know.

Your trans should be fine all the sport shift does is change the shift points. Not sure if you can just disconnect it.
