Ok so I want to buy a s2000 from this guy up in Seattle. Thing is, he said that the bottom end needs rebuilt. So I don't know if it is a really bad thing. So I need help on this and was wondering how much it would cost.

i guess it depends on how much he is selling it for.... and y look in seattle? there is ppl here in AZ selling them...

$3500 Plus.

Rebuilding it with new parts from HONDA and valve job and gaskets, and all the above fluids and shit $3500-4000

Buying a used motor off H-motors, EBAY, where ever you want to get it. $3500-4000

Also don't buy any car from STATE that has SNOW AND RAIN 85% of the year, your asking for a rust bucket. Everyone knows that i thought!!!!

Brand new shortblock from Honda-
AP1- $2100
AP2- $2400

How much is he asking for the car? Unless you are getting an amazing deal on it, and it's been garaged during the winter, I would look into buying a complete running car.

Damn that's pricey. But I mean he is asking 6000 andits a ap1 with 38k miles so I'm still thinking about it. But of course I would rather buy one that's running. I found another ap1 for 12000 with 34k and it had some mods. But I was just wondering. What is also the best shop around here for s2k's?

Science of Speed is the best in town for the S2k. Honestly, thats still a lot to pay for a broken S2k. There are a couple motor/trans combos on S2ki that are going for around 4k but if you look hard enough you can find 00-01 running S2ks going for under 10k.

yea i know there is some going for under 10k. i thought about it and it is alot bc im going to end up paying about 10k + for it fixing and all. so its pretty not much worth it. i

There is an engine on craigs list for $2500, if you can get it to phoenix for under $6k and it's a clean title, it's good deal.

Not if he's having a shop do the work. In the end he'll have just as much into it as a complete running ap1.

yah that sounds about right, if you can't do the work yourself it's not that good of a deal. But if you're thinking about gitting a none runing car, you should be able to do the work yourself.
