So I'm thinking about getting an RSX. Does anyone have any opinions or advice on them.
Any problems? And how much do you pay for yours if you're financing one?
Thank you!

if you get a rsx get a type dont even waste your time with a base, also find one that still has warranty or get a extend warranty, the type s, have been know for 2nd 3rd grinds or they just pop out of gear, i had the tranny problem 3 times, but overall they are super sexy cars to drive. oh and if you cant find a 05-06 s you can always get a 02-04 and do the front and rear conversion.

i have a 03 type-s and love it. just under 60,xxx miles!! with slight mods you get great throttle response and a quick little ride!! parts are a little expensive in some cases but IMO well worth it!! plus its a collectors item now so thats a plus!!

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I want to get a type s, 05-06 preferably. I researched those and they come with the 210hp K20Z1, right?

In 2005 the RSX Type-S received camshafts, b-pipe and muffler upgrade. just slightly changed those up a lil bit to receive the extra 10 put IMO if you want to pay more for the same parts its your choice but id get an 02-04!!

210 flywheel hp, yes. A stock type-s should put down anywhere from 165-175hp to the wheels.

If I were you I would look for an 05-06 (I'm partial to the looks) with low miles and ZERO mods.

I've had two DC5's, one base and one S, and have loved them both...of course, the Type-S far more ;) I recommend getting either but if its an option for you go for the Type-S no doubt. You won't be disappointed

Thanks again everyone. I really like the way the 05-06 ones look. But I might settle for the 02-04's.

love the looks, the drivetrain, the interior, the way the car feels daily driving...

Hate the under steer, hate the handling, hate the suspension.

Is it a straight bolt on to convert an 02-04 to an 05-06?
As far as the lights and bumpers.

the front end is straight bolt on plus some wiring which isnt too hard. the rear you have to drill couple holes and some wiring. there is a diy on club rsx. if you need help let me know.

I hope that was a joke. Poor RSX...

The only weakness to the rsx is the transmission. But be nice to it, and itll be nice to you. People who go through multiple tranis on the rsx are DEFINITELY doing something wrong. Ive never heard of people going through "tranis"

As far as the 02-04 to 05-06 body conversion and vice versa are fairly simple mods for the average grease monkey. Clubrsx.com has a DIY thread specifically for doing said conversion.

05 type S.
Tranny does grind, Showcase refuses to duplicate problem and installs new mounts instead.
I plan on letting Acura of Tempe take a look/hopefully replace it.
I pay $399/mo, from 31k to 53k now. Fun car, comfortable, kinda loud though.

we installed a strup one piece stainless steel header that eliminates the cat for a customer on a type-s. It made HUGE top end gains and revs so much harder. I would recommend this header for anyone trying to stay N/A . Megan Racing also makes a very similar Header for a little less money.

i personally like the 02-04 bodystyle a little more. for the price difference you can get a really nice 02-04 and have money to put towards it to have more power than an 05-06. rsx are pretty good cars tho. the main problems are that the trannies are not very forgiving and often are abused. they have cable shifters which leaves a sloppy feel but can be reduced with shifter bushings and short shifters. the intermediate shaft heat sheilds are generally a problem but can be easily fixed. the wire bushings will give out and it will cause a tinny rattle, thats all. and like most hondas, the window regulators can give out pretty easily if you dont keep a clean run channel but they are VERY expensive to replace unlike older models.

i love the rsx's, i personally would go with a type-s because you will end up wanting one if you dont get one. i made a big mistake cheaping out on getting an 04 si when i should have saved up a little more money to get an rsx-s. biggest modifications that give you the most bang for your buck are basic bolt ons and a tune on hondata k-pro. a race header, exhaust and cold air intake will make the 02-04 faster than the 05-06 for sure and will be alot more fun to drive compared to stock.

Cool, thanks everyone! I gotta wait to see what happens with the whole financing issue. But I test drove an 06 base model, it was cool but I want to drive the type-s now.

I was financed @ 7% thru compass bank. Good credit score (715-740), short credit history (4 years). No lates, misses etc.

save yourself the frustration and dont bother with the base. If your happy with the power of the base, just go buy an ep3.

too much is different between the base and type-s. Suspension, totally different motor, interior is lame, no sway bars, etc etc etc.
