Hey guys I was able to dyno a customers car before and after to compare the RBC vs the RRC (07 CTR) manifolds and the RRC made 7 more WHP over the RBC.

This manifold was installed on a 06 Civic Si.

His mods are

Injen CAI with Apexi Power Flow
Coolant bybass
RRC... not a RBC
P2R throttle body gasket
Hondata IMG
custom mandrel bent 2.5 with magnaflow straight through
Thermotec wrapped Vibrant RH
Unorthodox underdrive pulleys
ACT prolight 8.5lbs flywheel
Boomba Mounts
buddy club condenser

This is the baseline with the RBC and the power difference in these runs was the addition of 100 octane

Disregard the torque spikes as this was due to sensor error.

This run is with the RRC manifold installed.

so you added 100 octane and the rrc intake manifold over the baseline run??

I don't think I could have made it any easier but let me try again.

In the 1st dyno graph threre are 2 runs. The difference in power is the addition of 100 octane fuel.

The second graph represents the power gained with addition of the RRC manifold over the original run in the 1st graph. No 100 octane fuel was used.

So in one graph is RBC 91 octane vs RBC 100 octane (202hp vs 206hp). The other graph is RBC with 91 octane vs RRC with 91 octane (202hp vs 209hp). Right?

SOOO...did you do pulls with the RBC and 91, then the RRC and 91, then go back to the RBC and add 100? Or did you do pulls with the RBC and 91, then add 100 and do pulls, then swap out for the RRC and do pulls?

this doesnt seem to be very well controlled.

All I can tell you is the customer came to me one week wanted a baseline run with what mods he had already we ran his car on the dyno, he then ran his car to empty then added 5 gallons of 100 then we redyno'd his car and made the additional power.

He then ordered an RRC manifold from me, installed it a few weeks later and we put him back on the dyno and he made a bump in power. He was running 91 octane.

Read whatever you want into it, it is what it is.

It's like my Grandmother always said; You can please some of the people some of the time but you can't please all the people all of the time.

Did you do a baseline pull when he came back before putting on the RRC? If so, did it make 202 again? If so, this is some good info.

I also read the post the way "josh" did. Your wording was a little unclear. I am not reading into it...

Good test.

isn't there major modification involved in fitting the new intake mani on? I hear lots of grinding off this-and-that? To be honest, I know nothing about it....but it's not a direct bolt-on, right? Is it a major PITA?

Fitted to what my friend? It's 100% bolt on part no mods required for 06+ TSX 06+ Civic Si.

Older K20A/Z K24 engines need the manifold cut just like the RBC and special adapter and vacuum port tapped for Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) function. I sell these manifolds and provide the required parts and modifications for them.

I was talking about 06+ civics. So you only need to cut and tap for IACV if it's an older k-series? These'll fit a 06+ civic with zero modification? If so, that is GREAT news. I really wanted one of these, but I thought that I read somewhere that it's a major pain-in-the-assss. That was really the only thing stopping me. Good to know, thanks!

Straight bolt-on.

I recently did some testing on one of these, and it didn't do any better than the cheaper RBC. For the money, I'd stick with the RBC.

Joe, what did you test it on? My customer netted a 7whp gain bolting it on to his 06 Si.

I like the way the RBC looks thats why i am getting that one....As for the 7 whp gain over the RBC is not that impressive but maybe with tuning and mods you could achieve more power and thats what I am waiting for until I make my final decision but for now I want the RBC.

As for the 7 whp gain over the RBC is not that impressive

7 whp with NO TUNING and no loss of power for a straight oem manifold swap out is not impressive? What would impress you then, if it stroked your bologna at the same time?

I'm curious to know what you thought about the RBC when people were swapping out their PRC (or whatever the DC5 manifold is) manifolds with the RBC and gaining 4-6 hp?

X2 that kind of power from a bolt-on is amazing.

I'll say,

www.Karcepts.com has them for $400 shipped
www.hmotorsonline.com lowered their price from $385 to $375 plus shipping and handling
www.RRCpackages.com has them for $369.99 plus shipping
