Oil Filter...

It was my first oil change since i bought my Ep3 so about 1months ago i go in for an oil change and the guy comes back and he goes ummm well we couldn't get your oil filter off? but here is 70bucks worth of free oil... i could hear them down there "Damn Rice Rockets, and cussing" seems to be on there pretty good.

why would it be stuck? anyone ever had a problem...

im taking it to the previous owners mechanic soon to make it take it off cause he was the last one to do the oil change!

just seeing if anyone has had this issue.'

Lol, i would be happy with 70 dollars worth of free oil, especially synthetic. Just do the work yourself, i bet most people have have had to bust off an oil filter or two to change their oil.

For filters that dont come off i have also used that chain with the handle, i forget whats its called, but i hasnt failed me yet, same tool you use to remove pullys

thats just another style of oil filter wrench.. they make chain, metal strap, nylon strap, jaw, and cup type oil filter wrenches..

this is the only way that i have found that works the best, when working at Honda i had some crazy tight filters that even the screwdriver trick almost didn't get off but that's cool you got free OIL though

i always have trouble when removing my oil filter and one time it was on there pretty tight! what i did is remove the passanger side wheel and get on your back, reach around from the passanger side with your right hand and from under the car with your left.. you are able to use alot of your weight and strength this way.

cause my dad asked me too cant pass that up when hes paying :you rock:

$57 bucks for a oil filter, synthetic oil and a free car wash (lets just say they dont know what detail drying is) lol the inside of my doors and hatch are sad :(.
but great service and really nice people :thumbup:

and jiffy lube wanted 80?... ummm no thanks:dumbass: ill stick with the dealer :bananaman:. i was suprised i thought it would be over priced at the dealer but it was very reasonable for synthetic and a half ass wash :tongue:.

wow, $57 for an oil change? I didn't know places charged that much. I should start offering oil change services. FYI with some oil filters you can use a special wrench, other wise the universal oil filter wrench usually takes it off (kind of like a plumbing wrench), or the screwdriver trick as well.

true $7.99 /qt x4 + oil filter + labor, so I guess that's not bad. But I know they dont pay that much per qt for synthetic if they buy in bulk. anyways, I wouldn't complain if somebody paid for me either! not bad
