Anyways, back on topic, I think the pics look pretty damn good. what is in the second pic? almost looks like folded up drawers. Either way, regardless of what I think of the subject, the pics composed nicely IMO.

You should backlight them a little bit so that the shadows don't show up, and edit out the crease in the sheet. Also, try to be a bit more creative with the shot. The most visually appealing shot is going to be the one taken in a way that people don't normally see the shoes. Everyone sees shoes from above and from the side on a daily basis.

already got a set up in mind so thats pretty much my goal for the year.

haha i was just about to make a thread for a cheap spot to pick one up. im a canon guy so i want the 50mm 1.8 or the 50mm 1.4 but the 1.4 is about three times as much. ive been checking out lots of kyle c stuff and his main lense is a 50mm so i really want to give it a shot!

the canon 50mm 1.8 is cheaper than the nikon one.
last time i checked was $108.00 shipped i believe.

lighting wise,
i was looking at 1 AB B400 with the Vegabond II and probably a Softbox to go with it.
Ive been looking at the paul c buff forums to learn more about lighting techniques.
