just bought a stereo plug cause mine was cut out, speaker cover and new window and regulator for the DD rex. now it almost has every peice just a few mooore things lol

Replaced the oil / filter, Replaced valve cover gasket because a grommet was leaking and it turns out it was leaking oil into the spark plug well, so it worked out.

Well, I guess 208K was all my motor was good for. Actually, I think when I blew a head gasket at 140K, Showcase did not do a great job fixing it. Ever since then it overheated during the summer with the AC on. I guess it gradually got worse and worse. Now it's going through antifreeze and oil like crazy.
Anyone have or know someone who has a stock D16A6 for sale, or maybe a ZC for a 90-91? A ZC is a drop in for USDM Si, right? |

I think the real problem was that Showcase did not properly fix my motor when the head gasket blew at 140K. maybe the head was just slightly warped and they didn't catch it is my guess. Plus, a 22-yo motor with over 200K on it is going to need some work. Noticed that mine was burning oil back in March at about 190K. Wasn't bad at first, but has got steadily worse since then, and then it started burning coolant as well. I go through 1qt oil and 1/2qt coolant every week and a half now.
I think I have a small leak in the head gasket (car overheats during the hot summer days with the AC on), and the rings are really starting to get bad. However, I'm still on the original clutch, and really haven't had any major work done on it besides the head gasket. If I can get a good rebuilt or low miles motor, I plan on keeping my CRX for at least another 200K miles. And if Honda ever gets off their ass and gives us a nice CR-Z without all the hybrid crap on it, I may get one of those too. :thumbup: |
Yes, they are. I actually hope to get a ZC (JDM version of the D16A6) for mine. I have a family member that works at Hon-Tech, and he can help me swap out the motors at the house.

yeah just put a newer sohc motor. should be simple.
im replacing the intake manifold gasket on the gsr, and damn that bitch is stuck! and ima fix some wires i seen there.. |

The last clip holding my passenger side garnish broke off. I used some 3M outdoor mounting tape to stick it back on. Seems to be holding so far.
