with the money involved I think EG6 is right (B18C). I had a B16B in my EK hatch. It was awesome I loved the crack of vtec in it. It was by far the loudest of any that me or my friends had heard. Of course it was not as fast as most but enjoyable. I wish I kept it and put it in my EG hatch. I regret it. Right now I am on the opposite side of the spectrum I have a B20B stock and I am happy with it for the money spent. It screamed with the spoon exhaust.

FYI: This car came from Texas in case anyone asks. I bought it 4+ yrs ago and sold it cuz the shell was garbage...the swap was more or less the selling point.

I had just spec out some Toda Spec A2 cams don't want to go with Spec B because I want that nice smooth idle. Looking into getting my B16A rebuilt next week. I just need to order a set of ACL bearings and a set rings for my 11.7:1 compression pistons. Doing some research right now on a machine shot to do the machining I wan t a fully blue printed and balanced block.
I have called Basko they are $650 to $750 with the price of bearings.
I am going to call a few more places today and waiting on a quote from Tri-Tech.

All this Toda products should actually will be better than a B16B.

My idle was fine with VTEC Killers and my friend's idle was fine with C's.. Get the C's dude.

I currently have a B16B. Super reliable never any issues! Stock it's not the fastest but I was wanting a reliable engine. My previous car had a LSVTec and it was faster than a stock ITR motor and didn't last very long. Also don't read the comments below saying LSV are just as reliable. They are usually the ones with them and black smoke caked on their bumpers. Hope this helps. If I was you I would only get a CTR or ITR and keep it stock. If you want something more than save for a K20a.

I will never go K. I love the B and I am more than content on staying that way. I know people say they are better but I very set on the B.

I am still thinking about this.

Power is made with lift, go with c2's or c's.

I am still debating on what to do. Right now really focused on machine shop. I have heard good and bad from almost all places and being a machinist myself I am even more picky about this and what I want done. If I had my own equipment I would do it myself.

I have only bought Toda products you can never go wrong. Now they have B20 Toda pistons now. The thing with Toda is that they raised their prices on everything. I paid $880 for the pistons I have now. I bought them almost 6 yrs ago and now they are $1200.

Koopa Troopa 02-28-2012 07:56 PM

They didn't raise prices, the exchange rate went from 120 to 76 yen to the dollar.
