Maybe...jump the pressure switch first?

Assuming you're watching the gauges and nothing is frozen over or blocking flow anywhere...

Do you have voltage at the clutch?

phatman 05-19-2015 07:00 AM

Yeah, I should jump the switch, too. Was hoping to just jump the compressor and see if it even engaged really. The fan kicks on, which I'm pretty sure it didn't do before I got the rings replaced and the system "charged". Even so, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some wiring issues somewhere as well.

phatman 05-19-2015 11:56 AM

Jumped the connector for the pressure switch. Condenser fan shuts off when I pull the jumper wire. Turns on with the switch plugged in. So now it's down the relays, power, and of course, the compressor itself. The power wire to the compressor is chewed up in a few places. If I can find a new harness to the compressor, that would be awesome. Now to hunt down the relay(s).

phatman 05-20-2015 10:43 PM

Rolled up to Phoenix in it for an interview today. Meet up CBARacing who had the right ECU for the my car. Plugged it in and still have the EACV code. turns out, Honda used the exact same harness plug for the EACV, purge solenoid and IAT. The purge and EACV had been switched, thus why it idled badly AND the reason the compressor wouldn't turn on. Needless to say, I should have working AC soon, and mileage is only going to go up. After changing the spark plugs a few weeks ago, I'm getting 50 mile to the gallon on the highways. :D

Now I just need to get my battery tie down in place, replace the negative and positive cables, get a job, and go have a track day. :D :D

Alika80 05-21-2015 11:28 AM

@phatman: That happened to me too! I had the IAT sensor and iac swapped. Only after getting a iac from cbaracing did I figure out I had them plugged in wrong.

Back on topic, got some stoptech brake lines for my car to replace the leaky rubber ones.

phatman 05-21-2015 01:15 PM

WTB: Compressor relay. xD

Topped off the system today. Closed the hood and the compressor shut off. Opened it, tapped on the relay and boom, it kicked back in.

Guess we know what that means. xD

Otherwise, car is running awesome now. And I have the cruise control indicator for a shift light. xD xD

Pulled the interior and carpet for a thorough cleaning. I discovered a few cracks in the driver's side seat mount and floorboard. I guess I will be welding it up this weekend.

Chuck Chainz 05-22-2015 12:13 AM

Ohh, I need some of those too, j still have squishy rubber hoses.

Getting ready for a race day?

Alika80 05-23-2015 02:54 PM

What Did You Do To Your Eg Today?

@chuck: I wish! Just replacing a leaky one. I got my set off eBay, $56 shipped. Cheaper than oreilly rubber ones. Anxious to see how much of a difference it makes. My coworker said its "like stepping on a brick". Lol.

Colten79 05-23-2015 04:47 PM

Swapped out the oil pump with a brand new K20A2 pump, then raised the limiter from 7600 to 8500.. Hoping to rid the tapping in 4th at the end of the 1/4.. Definitely makes it past the finish now without topping out 4th, but the 2nd & 3rd gear synchros are done.. Had to shift like I was driving a srt4, which resulted in slower et's :(
Consistent 1.63's though

phatman 05-23-2015 05:00 PM

Nice!

*edit*

Went up Mt. Lemmon with mine to go camping with my boys for a church thing. More second gear climbing, but it ran well. Coming down was fun as I just idled third gear for most of it and was able to stay off the brakes most of the time.

king06 05-24-2015 11:40 AM

Pulled the front lower control arms off for new prothane bushings. Hopefully will start a build thread soon.

mdizzle 05-25-2015 04:41 PM

Welded the cracks in the floor, put in the interior, and finished it off with new oem floor mats.

Broskiballa 06-01-2015 04:34 PM

Tranny re-build? What are you doing to dat 6 speed?

00_ek9coupe 06-01-2015 05:26 PM

those look like racekar parts :p

Colten79 06-02-2015 12:24 PM

Longer/stronger 1st & 2nd
kinda.. Trying to see how far we can get this budget build, then he'll either turbo this or do a beasty all motor build

Chuck Chainz 06-02-2015 12:29 PM

Love seeing tranny stuff :031:
You do your own work?

cbaracing 06-02-2015 12:43 PM

:tits:

phatman 06-02-2015 01:06 PM

The amount of tranny talk in this thread is too damn high! xD

On topic, though, replaced the A/C compressor relay and stuffing some fresh oil into the motor. Still kills me that all four of the Honda's I owned / have owned use the SAME DAMN OIL FILTER. o.O

phatman 06-02-2015 03:13 PM

So I either managed to blow the fuse to the condenser fan, or it was on its way out with the relay. Got the new relay installed and NOTHING happened. Started tracing back, changing around the relays, etc. Finally went to the box and found the fuse gone. Installed a new one and now I have cold A/C. :D

Colten79 06-02-2015 04:13 PM

Yes.

phatman 06-13-2015 09:21 PM

Made my first run to Phoenix with A/C earlier this week. Did well. Have some squeaks going on and I'm hoping it's just the belt needing replacement and some adjustments to the tension setup. Happy with this little hatchback of mine. :D

hondafanej1 06-20-2015 09:56 AM

Bought new avid motor mounts and torque mounts. gonna re spray and tuck the bay while the motors out.

mdizzle 06-21-2015 11:01 PM

Picked up my asr brace and sway bar from RC's garage and a fender from cbaracing the other day.

Put in a new gas tank.

phatman 06-22-2015 03:42 PM

Cooked the engine....

cbaracing 06-22-2015 04:14 PM

well it was a good run :ballin:

phatman 06-22-2015 04:28 PM

May just be a head gasket, I hope. Problem is, nobody in Show Low has one. -_-

jake@rcg 06-23-2015 12:36 PM

Good meeting you, lets see some pictures of that kit installed. Also, let me know if you need anything else

phatman 06-23-2015 02:45 PM

Found out one of the fuel injectors had become unplugged. Motor is fine. Still have a cooling issue to chase down.
