pulled the motor, I enjoyed the last days I drove it, which was like four in the last four five months.

Replaced fuel filter and installed the leather steering wrap. Looks good.

Today I learned that eBay plastic spoon style spoilers look worse than stock melted and chipped ones. That's ok, it will probably fly off on the freeway anyway.

cbaracing 11-13-2015 10:44 AM

you should make a quick release for it and have a button in the dash so when someone pisses you off then you launch it off at them :smoke:

phatman 11-13-2015 10:51 AM

I made the mistake of getting a set of D-Spec Spoon knockoffs. I'm surprised they haven't taken off on their own with the little screws that hold them in place. It's bad enough to just move out of adjustment within moments of getting them where I want them.

mdizzle 11-13-2015 10:30 PM

Lol! Great idea

mdizzle 02-01-2016 09:22 AM

Replaced the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, crank and cam seals, belts, hoses/heater core hoses, all the engine mounts, and the dizzy o-ring. Still much more to do....

phatman 02-03-2016 05:30 PM

Told some random driver that it wasn't for sale on my way home from work...

Alika80 03-23-2016 05:30 AM

Installed new belts, A/C Idler pulley, and recharged my A/C...hooray for air conditioning!

phatman 03-23-2016 12:05 PM

Steel braided lines up front and a reminder to check tightness of everything before driving to test / work. Bought a set of rear disc hardware off of an Integra LS and just need to get some bushings a the hardware shipped that was forgotten. Have rear braided lines to go in with the disc hardware. May be a CX engine, but it'll stop on a dime!! xD

Pulled the exhaust manifold and noticed a stud sheared off in the head. Deciding what to do. I've had very little luck in the past trying to use my extractor set. I also noticed small cracks developing in the manifold. I ordered a set of spec d headers from amazon and i hope they fit. The whole point of removing the manifold was to replace the oil pan gasket...which was completely bonded to the pan and block and not easy to get off. I should have just let it leak.

phatman 05-04-2016 03:08 PM

Swapped out the left rear disc setup in. Need to do a little mumbo jumbo to get the compensator arm in place. Trying to tackle the right side tonight. Have some hardware on order to get the parking brake connected and the hose tied down. Then it's just a bleed out and I'll be ride of them crappy drums. :D :D :D

mdizzle 05-18-2016 10:06 AM

Extracted the broken exhaust manifold stud. It was not fun. Installed the new stud. Installed the new oil pan gasket. The OEM Honda replacement gasket does not have metal spacers around the studs/bolts like the original. So if I torque to spec it squishes out. I guess I will have to eyeball it and go by feel and hope it doesn't leak. Wish I had saved $20 and got the felpro gasket from rockauto.

Chuck Chainz 05-18-2016 11:16 AM

Only way I've ever had a leak free gasket replacement was with the engine upside down on a stand.

mdizzle 05-18-2016 02:59 PM

I can see why lol! I'm going to hope for the best. At least if I have to do it again it will be easier.

phatman 05-19-2016 08:57 AM

Did actually finish the disc swap. Love having the pedal feel firm up. Now on to suspensions. I finished off my struts on the rear end and now I have a massive butt wiggle.

mdizzle 05-20-2016 09:16 AM

Massive butt wiggle?! Did you replace all the bushings?

I still have all my suspension goodies in boxes stacked in front of my car. One day I will get around to it.

I installed my cheap spec d headers. They do not use any of the factory support bracing and are about 1.5" too short. How long before they crack?

cbaracing 05-20-2016 09:43 AM

about 5.3 months :080:

phatman 05-20-2016 11:11 AM

I've new bushings for the outer ends of the LCA's I want to put in. The problem stems more from the fact that my struts are blown. There is no dampening whatsoever left in them. Need to get the lower strut mount bushings ordered and then I'll put the GSR LCA's in. I did also replace the trailing arm bushings, since there weren't any in the arms I bought. All urethane.

phatman 05-21-2016 10:46 AM

In fact, here's how the right rear arm came out before I swapped in the disc setup:

Yeah. New bushings as it was as the arms didn't have any when I bought them. Need to hammer out the bushings from the LCAs this weekend and work on getting some cash for the lower strut mount and swap said LCAs in. Then I gotta figure out new struts.

mdizzle 05-22-2016 11:01 PM

lol! I'm sure you are right. Can't wait.

Phatman, your bushings look like mine :)

phatman 05-23-2016 11:59 AM

Yeah. Left one is still in, but a chunk of rubber missing. Glad I did the swap when I did.

cbaracing 05-31-2016 09:48 AM
