Highlight from yesterdays workout. First truly heavy bench day in about 4 months.
Bench:
bar x 10
95 x 10
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 1
275 x 1
Press Commands:
315 x 1
340 x 1(very fast)
365 x 0(I told my training partner I think I bitched out on this lift, and wanted it again hadn't felt any real weight in a LONG time)
365 x 1(got refocused and more explosive)- PR with press command.




Highlights from today's workout. Belt-less deadlift PR.

Deadlift(no belt):
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 3
405 x 1
455 x 1
495 x 1
525 x 1(Beltless PR)

Holy shit Spec. Im sure the more frequent posters in this section can do about the same weight but dam. Thats some big numbers. Some day I will hit the 300 mark lol.
Been going hiking to echo trail these past few days. What a work out. Also been doing some research on diet plans and food groups. I had no idea how much tought and science goes into getting a lean body. So much work almost feels like a part time job lol.

You'll get there. Just keep plugging away. Just remember if you are trying to lean out your strength is probably not going to shoot through the roof.

Most I pulled was 550, and benched 375. However 375 was touch and go, where as this 365 was paused, and I waited for the "press" command from my partner.

525 was the most I pulled without a belt however.

I have a little aggravation in the area that got injured. I have been trying to stretch it out today.

Do you ever use boards? And I can definitely relate on the back issue, I still haven't deadlifted

I never have, up until Monday. I did some 3 board presses after that 365 set. Ended up doing 335 x 5. The first set I did 315 x 5 to get a feel for the boards, but I was bringing the bar WAY high(ie. towards my upper chest instead of lower chest) because I couldn't gauge my normal bar path with the boards there.. After that set, I corrected things, and it felt much better.

Going to do some speedwork tomorrow.

Right on. They definitely take some getting used to. The first time I used them I had a SLIGHT bounce and shot the weight up and out rather than back. Fortunately I had a good spotter lol

Get your gym setup man. I am very curious what I can bench on a real bench. My partner Chris says a good competition bench is probably worth every bit of 10-20lbs over these ridiculous benches at LA Fitness.

Man I been reading the Scivation book you can download from their website. Its a great read. Ill rocommend it for starters looking to get into shape.

Might not be very impressive but I dead lift 215x8 today. Could have squeezed out a couple more. I feel like I'm finally getting back into the grove to start upong the weights

Good job man. That's really a good deadlift.

I got in a huge fight with some piece of shit salesman at la fitness today because I was deadlifting too loud. Said he was going to revoke my membership.

Yea I love deadlifting.

I got in a huge yelling match with this guy. Really pissed me off. He only did it because I was by myself. Never says shit when I am training with one of my partners.

The scale is a tool. Don't obsess over it. it is like a dyno.

I'm working on it man, believe me. This baby threw a curve ball at me. It's gonna come squirting out at the busiest time of the year, and she's the one that handles all the office work.

Weighed myself Monday and came in at a sloppy 180 :thumbsdown:. Gonna see if I can't clean myself up and put on a little weight over the next few months. I'll try and get pics up soon.
