Tunerview2 Wiring help..

Hey guys, I have searched and searched and searched some more but I can't find my answer... I am wiring up a tunerview 2 with the s300 hondata interface module. The directions from the manufacturer expressly state that the module MUST be hooked up to a + wire that is on during accessory. All the way through start up. So I can't just tap say, the cigarette lighter because it blips off during cranking.

Can some one explain to me the term, "switched ignition" I even called the company and that is what he told me. "+ can be hooked up to any switched ignition source". so i thought that was basically a 12v constant so i tapped the fat 12v constant in the ignition switch and that wont work because it actually keeps the tunerview on at all times. I hope this is all making sense. I am working really hard at getting better with wiring but I'm just at a loss right now.

Can some on give me an idea of what a switched ignition wire is and what wire I should tap to get the right results.

Thank you

So, since I already have all the wires ran, if I move the soldered line from the 12v constant to the yellow that is hot during acc and run will that work?

BigCountry 02-28-2014 12:30 PM

I wouldn't do that. The constant needs to be constant in order to maintain "memory" in most electronics.

I'm just at a loss. I'm sire I'm making it way harder than it needs to be but I hate electronics.

Now you circled 2 connections in the picture... E: would be the one I want right? Acc and run?

Chuck Chainz 02-28-2014 12:42 PM

One is a switched as he mentioned and another would be a constant 12v

If you need it to come on in ACC then yes.

I have a s2000 push start on the C connection and only need it power in RUN which is perfect for me.

What car (make/model) are we talking bout?

OBDXherr13 02-28-2014 12:46 PM

1996 Honda civic hx

Yeah, I need it to come on during acc like a stereo but not lose power during the cranking process like a stereo does.

This taken directly from their website. Maybe this will help you guys in helping me understand where to run this power wire.

"You can hook it up to any 5v-15v source. Above 5v is recommended to ensure correct voltage regulation. It's recommended that you get power from the same line as the ECU or a line that stays active after the key has been turned."

Where would I find an ecu wiring diagram so maybe I can just tap the ecu power?

Dude I'm telling you that connection on the fuse block does not lose power. If it did my push start button wouldn't work.

Didn't get a chance to look at it today but I'm going to start there and I also have an idea to run the power from the ecu fuse under the Hood. I'm going to test them both tomorrow or Monday. Thanks for your help guys.

Just run the power from the accessories output from the fuse box under the dash.

Yeah, got it soldered into the ecu power. Just like their website suggests.
Thanks guys.

i run mine from the radio switched power haven't had any issues doing so. I also run a small computer fan on the Interface Module, i had a problem as mine heated up the screen would dim away.
