Shooting for one of the fastest FIS in AZ

So I am pretty close to finishing my newest upgrades and am shooting to be a top contender in the IFO FIS class here in AZ. Basically to run in the FIS class you have to run an exhaust, full interior, all regular windows, no cutting metal, you can have a 3 piece front end, 62mm turbo or smaller, 24.5 inch slicks and registration/ insurance.

So last time I was on the dyno the car put down 710whp and since then I have made a few changes. I Just recently finished up a 10 point chromoly tig welded cage, added Skunk2 LMA’s, Pro 1 cams and gears. I also had the trans pulled and purchased the Speed Factory SCHA, Joe sent my gear set off to Liberty Gears to get face plated, no more synchros!!

Anyways I am really trying to put together something that will push low 10’s and with a lot of seat time maybe a high 9. My tranny will be back together in the next couple of weeks so I will post more pictures of that and after it gets retuned.

Start off with some pictures of the cage, I just finished painting it and got all the interior back in.

Some outside shots I got from today, I just buffed the car out and got it cleaned up..

looking good buddy

AZ_CIVIC 11-21-2013 02:47 PM

Thanks man! I had the cage built around the interior so every piece of the interior is in.

Kiid Supreme 11-21-2013 02:48 PM

In for this build...

Jason.AZ1 11-21-2013 02:49 PM

are you going to switch to a fiberglass front end?

AZ_CIVIC 11-21-2013 02:51 PM

I thought about it but I really like the stock look of the front end. I really won't save any weight and I am running a 24.5 inch tire so it doesn't really stick out the fenders like the guys on 26's.

Rzarectah 11-21-2013 02:53 PM

super clean! Do the FIS rules still require working interior?

AZ_CIVIC 11-21-2013 03:00 PM

Not sure, when I looked at the rules it just said full interior no cutting metal out, the cool thing is my interior is fully functional. My front seats move forward, backward, recline and the back seats still can fold down and up because the cage doesn't go through them but up and over.

All my signals, hazards, gauge cluster, windows all the way down to my stereo is good to go.

theAngryMarmot 11-21-2013 03:07 PM

This is good stuffs in here.

AZ_CIVIC 11-21-2013 03:11 PM

Thanks man!

Nachooooosupreme 11-21-2013 03:17 PM

Nice work

In for this..

Jason.AZ1 11-21-2013 03:19 PM

You should make it a goal everytime you win at the track to throw hazards on!

juan3023 11-21-2013 03:32 PM

car looks very clean

cbaracing 11-21-2013 03:40 PM

have you ever ran the car at the track?

what times did you get?

AZ_CIVIC 11-21-2013 04:03 PM

Thanks man I will get some bay shots as soon as the tranny is back in, the bay is fully shaved, tucked and painted.

My first turbo set up in the car it ran 11.6 when I was about 450WHP.. Then I went with another setup and got 11.1 with 550whp I busted blew an oil pump after that..

Then I got another sleeved block a couple years ago and the motor dropped a valve.

Then I said screw it and decided to get everything done at TSR and Locash. Basically everything has been done with this setup and I haven't run it yet. Last dyno session it made 710 and I am thinking maybe 750whp now but I have so much more then I have had on any set up before.

cbaracing 11-21-2013 04:38 PM

all in the same car?

let me know when you run again. would like to watch

AZ_CIVIC 11-21-2013 05:28 PM

Yeah I've had this car a long time, this is the third sleeved block I've had in this car along with about 5 different turbo setups. I will post some pics of the motor, fuel system, trans etc and I will let you know when I go out.

I got a text from Joe saying my gear set from Liberty will be here in about 2 and half weeks. After that it is back on the dyno and then to the track finally.

Chuck Chainz 11-21-2013 05:44 PM

Wolf in sheeps clothing about sums it up.

AZ_CIVIC 11-21-2013 08:09 PM

Yeah I was trying to keep it as stock looking as possible, I like having full interior and a stock body.

MIRANDA88 11-21-2013 10:50 PM

I am in love with the way she sits on that tire setup.

AZ_CIVIC 11-22-2013 08:30 AM

Yeah I really like it as well, the Mickey Thompson ET Streets in the front hook really well. They are 225/50/15's so they are about 24.5 inches tall. I thought about the M&H 235/60/15's but they are 26 inches tall and I think just a little to big. I have seen cars with them but it looks weird in my opinion, way too big. Since I don't drive the car daily I just leave the skinnies on the back and the Exospeeds in the rear almost match the rims I had on the car.

The color is a little off so I was thinking of powder coating the fronts to match the rears, then I thought about powdercoating all the rims flat black, not to sure yet.

MADEGO 11-22-2013 05:38 PM

I really like this, looks like a sleeper, except for cage. I want to see this at wild horse!

AZ_CIVIC 11-22-2013 06:21 PM

The cage was built with a really tight fit, so you really don't see it that much from the outside. I can't wait to get it out to the track to run.

ICD 11-23-2013 09:43 AM

This.

AZ_CIVIC 11-23-2013 04:46 PM

Will do

00_ek9coupe 11-23-2013 05:12 PM

Can't wait to see more!

Keo00civic 11-23-2013 07:42 PM
