Amp Reccomendations for JL setup

Well i've got two 10w3v3.4's that i've been wanting to install in either my or my wifes car. I'm just needing some recommendations for an amp. These are a few of the stats from what I can tell if it helps. Looking to stay with jl if possible, but open to a few others. I'd like to stay away from fosgate and most of the best buy crap that floats around.

4 ohm, 500 watts continuous, looks to be around 300 watts rms for optimal range according to jl's website.

any help would be appreciated.

500/1 or 300/2

Now just finding a jl that isn't ridiculously over priced. got quoted 500/1 = $599.90
XD 600/1 = $399.90 from a shop in Gilbert. Hey Dallis any recommendations for where to pickup an amp for any cheaper that's just as quality?

Ebay 10000%

500/1's can be found for $200. Just keep an eye out. Hell, there was a 1000/1 that sold here for $250 a few weeks ago.

Yeah I saw that one, any problems buying stuff from ebay like re manufactured or problems with working? I was going to check out a shop downtown here today for pricing, but I hate paying JL's $1 per watt deals.

I had to get one repaired once. It was $75. JL is reasonable all around, even out of warranty. Just find a seller with good feedback.

who'd you go through for the repair. I still got my old a1400 monoblock, but the parts where you screw the wires into is pretty jacked and they seemed to strip really easy.

Rufus 03-14-2011 01:15 PM

Take the heatsink off and the allenhead to hold those wires will come off. I did the exact same thing. I never paid the $75, I did what I told you and bought a new allenhead screw at ACE for .23

if u got jl subs only use jl amp i had my jlw-7 powered by a jl monoblock class d 1000/1v1 and i had to take it out of the car.. made my head rattle.. but use a 500/1 amp would work well

99luder 03-28-2011 12:04 PM

infracted do u know which version of the 1000/1 was sold? if it was the v1 then thats resonable but for the v2 thats very cheap.. i bought my 1000/1 for 1200 new.. sub 700 new. and sold the amp for 250.... and the sub was traded for optima power/s

99luder 03-29-2011 09:36 AM

My friends brother has 2 w1v2 powered by a soundstream picasso amp. It is really loud in his single cab truck.
