Figured this could be a good way to maybe talk about some of the more underground/real hip- hop and not the commercial hip-pop that is played almost everywhere. Basically list some of your favorite artists/songs or whatever. Maybe share some of your favorite mixtapes. Im talking about people like MF Doom, Lupe, Kid Cudi, The Cool Kids, A Tribe Called Quest, etc. etc. Im not talking about Lil Wayne, Flo-Rida, Lil Jon, T-Pain, etc. etc. Im also not trying to start any arguments so please keep the BS out of here. I still count people like Jay Z, Kanye West, and Drake, etc. as hip-hop as well. I just hate all the auto-tune shit. Uggggg.

Lloyd banks isn't mainstream. He has a few songs for radio because you gotta have the public hear you to sell cds. But he doesn't make music to be played on the radio. He's top 5 dead or alive.

Seriously man, Immortal is a very cool guy. I had a little conversation with him the last time he was in Tucson.

Same with P.O.S., when he played Club Congress in Tucson, after the show he was just chillin and hangin out with me and all my buddies. I got to hang out with him for like 2 hours until Congress closed. That guy is one of the coolest, most interesting people I have ever spoken with in my entire like. He is a very grounded and humble individual. POS was in town with Grieves and Dessa. Didn't talk to Dessa very much, I talked to Grieves a little bit but it was his birthday that night and everyone kept buying him shots, so he was LIT! lol...... /story

Raekwon has been my #1 for a while now. Still love any of the Wu guys though (Ghostface way up on the list as well), but got to throw out Apathy, Vinnie Paz (any of JMT) and Immortal as true hip hop I'll bump over any of the other "mainstream" shit people are listening to.

I don't see how banks is a sell out. He still drops mixtapes and music for free. He didn't make an album in 6 years. He's been doing his thing for last ten years. He's a over looked rapper. His punchlines are fuckn crack and he has perfect flow and delivery. I'm not gettin mad or shit just saying. Having a conversation.
