***Official DSLR Vid Thread***
Saw some peeps talking about DSLR movies in the classifieds, thought I'd share mine that I've done.
These are really the first videos I've put together so I'm still learning the difference between moving pictures lol All were done on my buddy's D3100 and edited by me, enjoy...? (Oldest to newest) |
Pretty dope, dude. Keep it up.
|
What did you use to edit?
|
Nice. I thought about making a thread for DLSR videos... maybe this could be that thread?
Some cool stuff. Good job. |
iMovie
yep yep! Go ahead!! I made the title non-specific for that reason! |
lowballers vid = $. good shit man
|
title changed :)
|
Thank you
Awesome thanks. Im still working on a video. (Getting use to manual focus while zooming is iffy lol. Saving up for my rig. xD) |
if you notice a lot of the stuff fundillo posted wasn't in focus all the time
|
I know but im trying to figure it out on how to zoom and focus at teh same time. I kinda have it just still working on it. Soon when i get a paycheck im going to build my own rig until i get hte money to buy the other ones. The rigs im looking at come with focus sensors so itll auto focus for you. :)
Then again they are $2000 lol. About $100 less then what i paid for my camera. lol |
Should have bought the D7000. It has continuous auto focus while zooming during video so you don't have to "follow focus" like you do in Canons. If you really want to pursue video that is a better start than spending $1500-2000 on a rig IMO. If you have a d7000 all you need is a decently priced dolly system (couple hundred tops) and you'd be set.
|
I have a really good dolly system.
The issue that i found with the D7000 (When i went to best buy to check out all the cameras) is that the focus is slow and wouldnt work for what i would want to use it for. I mainly upgraded cameras for the video purpose but also for the photos too. I did think about getting the 5dM2 which i see you are selling for the same price i bought my camera for but i ended up liking the 7D more do to it fit my style more. Ill get use to it. Just will take some time :) |
Can't wait to see if nikon brings the video software to an updated full frame camera.
|
Focus is ultra fast for me when I use it for video... sometimes too fast and I have a hard time keeping up with the camera.
|
Weird. Maybe theirs was just messed up?
It seems slow for what i would use it for (Automotive stuff) and would continuesly focus on other things instead of one thing like... i tried focusing on a person and as they moved i kept the camera on them (stalking) and it kept focusing on stuff behind them then at them again etc. Maybe its because i dont know how to use Nikon rofl. |
x2. I decided to just keep all my current gear and wait to see what later this year has in store for us (both Nikon & Canon). Should be an interesting year since Nikon & Canon are about due for new full frame models.
That is what I've been reading from other users as well. That would be my guess ;) You can't just pick up a different brand camera and play with it for 5 mins in a store and expect perfect results. Who knows if you even had it set up properly, especially considering how very different the Canon & Nikon menu systems are. It's hard to get used to the other brand when you don't have experience with it. I'd need a solid full day with a Nikon to feel comfortable in setting it up and using it correctly. |
Here is one I made when I was at some meets out in San Diego:
It was really my first time making a video with the 7D and using Windows Live Movie Maker. I def. need to work on follow focus. Will be doing a lot more with video this year, a lot. |
Considering it was at best buy, it was probably messed up.
|
wait... you paid 2000 bucks for a 7D?
|
$1300 for the 7D with kit lens, then around $800 for other stuff. All together it was $2000
Warranty is rape. $700 for the warranty. |
aww :(
agreed, rigs are def the way to go, dont get to excited with dslr autofocus, its not the same as a dedicated video cameras autofocus. Movies don't use autofocus ;) im waiting till mid year, if they dont im going canon |
I didn't mean it in a bad way, because it works well for you.
|
thanks! hahaha
|
lol I made this with my GoPro
