Test pipe questions

So I recently picked up a berk technology test pipe from a fellow Tucson member and am planning on installing it today it already has a built in o2 fix and am wondering if I should still use 2 anti foulers or non foulers to prevent the dreaded CEL orange ugliness from popping up...any other s2000 owners especially 06 and up with drive by wire systems have test pipes or any experience with test pipes. Any info will be appreciated, will keep everyone updated after the install thanks

I've heard that on most DBW cars, the CEL doesn't work that well. I doubt you need to add more defoulers if it already has them.

BBSick 11-16-2008 07:46 PM

actually on s2ki all the 06 and up owners say the o2 is way more sensitive and will most likely throw a code with or without foulers, even on the berk tech site it says 00-05 is 97% cel free but 06 and up has a high chance, I was just seeing if anyone on here was running a test pipe

I forgot to put defoulers after the CEL part lol oops.

I am running one, but I have an 04 though :(

What kind? Berk, t1r, invidia etc?

S2K Simmy 11-17-2008 07:13 AM

I'm running the Invidia 6Xmm with CEL fix

OIC nice, so just installed mine and it was CEL free for 30 miles lol, then the ugly orange light turned on, bought some defoulers and will install them soon and reset the ecu to see if it goes away completely. Did you CEL turn off? Or it's still on?

I'm running one as well. On my foulers I drilled out the bottom of one and left the other alone so not only does it pull the o2 out of the exhaust stream but you have a little hole on the bottom for anything to get to the O2 sensor.

I'm running a SOS test pipe.

Science of Speed nice, I would've got one but I couldn't pass up the deal on this berk one.

9k All The WAY 11-18-2008 02:33 PM

Yeah I bet cause mine wasn't cheap.

S2K Simmy 11-18-2008 04:05 PM

no more CEL for me

BBSick 11-18-2008 10:12 PM

And you are using two foulers correct? 04-05 too right

k20z3coupe 11-19-2008 02:46 PM

i heard that test pipes can put you in the federal pen cuz its tampering with a federal emissions device, not so much fun in there i hear

BBSick 11-20-2008 12:38 AM

Yeah everyone is entitled to their own opinion thanks for the 2 cents

9k All The WAY 11-20-2008 09:25 AM

Thank you

hmmm my friend had one on his 07 s2k and it didnt throw any cels until he got the supercharger :) its insane now

BBSick 11-24-2008 09:16 PM

What supercharger? Kraftwerks is the only cel free one for dbw s2000s cause they have a hondata reflash included

BBSick 11-25-2008 03:13 AM

I just noticed you meant he did throw a code after the blower that's weird

michalo187 11-26-2008 12:36 AM

Did you get this thing on yet homie? I am anxious to know your results.

BBSick 11-26-2008 04:25 AM

Yeah I did man thanks again it definitely changes the tone of the exhaust and completely eliminated any drone. After 30 miles I threw a CEL though but am going to try to use the non fouler trick. After installing the test pipe and drop in air filter the really pulls nicely and screams in vtec. Everyone on s2ki that has dynoed it has reportly made around 212 to 215whp.

michalo187 11-26-2008 04:37 PM

Glad to see you got good results minus the CEL but yeah using another anti fouler may work also. I had just the drop in filter in my s2k and I felt good gains with just that.

BBSick 12-01-2008 11:38 PM

Lucky bastard! No smog must be nice, I live right inside the testing zone lol a few miles away and I would be home free!

when the light comes on come on in ..lol
