I know this is a stupid question, but here it goes

the factory system that is in my 2010 coupe came with a factory sub, is there any way that I could replace it with a 12" sub without having to add an amp? Would it mess with the alternator if so?

Factory amp is weak as all hell. Its like 23 watts rms.

Oh. No thanks. Just picked up a jl amp and sub for cheap from a co worker since he just totaled his truck.
