Racing Helmet...
So i am tired of bothering friends to borrow theirs, what are some good suggestions for a decent helmet these days?
I found this and liked it |
Not bad at all, so long as its legal!
Personally I wouldn't buy anything but an SA2010 certified helmet for costs & longevity if your serious about racing. brand & details just depends on how much $$$ you want to spend.

walmart sells some nice spiderman once. You can probably sticker bomb with domo and all the other JDM fresh stickers, Joe.
i heard good things about g-force, but doesn't simpson ( thats how you spell it right?) make better helments? |
I would like to keep it around 300 or less since I need to pay for the actual event still and I don't race that often that I need a baller helmet yet :)
I will check that place out though because I think I need to be sized |
XXS should do. Well depending on brand your probably going to hover around the medium'ish sized. Small on some like HJC but it depends on your jaw line etc.
If you aren't going frequent i would just get something on the cheaper side or borrow... Find a buddy that used to ride a motorcycle that you know hasn't dropped it and use that. I used to have quite a few helmets around but i kept meeting people without helmets and i literally gave them away because i didnt want them to fucking die. lol Otherwise i could hook it up, im just down to 2 (primary & bitch) |
terra has her quad helmet which is snell, but it has that dang brim on it
A non removable one? =/
Get one that is SA 2010 or newer rated Joe. I just picked up my composite HJC for 300 bucks local.

this is why i love azht... after about the 3 or 4th replies... you give up on the stupidity of post and disregard the rest which may have useful info because you dont bother to read on.
someone with knowledge and ability should should clean up, so useful info is only displayed... fuckin azht when it comes to safety why be ignorant.:beatdeadhorse2: |
Keep in mind that sizes vary across brands.
For example a medium HJC fits my noggin perfect but was too small for Sparco that I wanted. If you're not going that often and trying to do the RR thing on a budget, just rock the loaner helmets and bring your own head sock. If/when you get more serious or cash then invest in a nice helmet |
i wouldnt trust a loaner helmet out of those trash cans with a ten foot pole.
I wouldn't trust you with a trashcan.
Yeah im a medium on an HJC, but on a shoei a medium is beyond tight. I am large/xlarge on a shoei. The brands range quite a bit sometimes. But also a lot of helmets are designed to fit differently (especially moto vs auto). I gave him some info at the N side meet last night as well.

My face itched for a week after using one of those
It's all in the name of love. They have a cream for that.

Fixed
