Put a new AEM intake on my s
New intake on my S, and I am now having issues with the acv, (I have a check engine light) Honda says it is blown and I need a new one. Any help on this, or anyone know where I can pick one up at a reasonable price. Thanks a lot, Greg

Did you make sure that you didn't mix up the hoses during installation?

Honda Part 36460-PCX-003

I double chizzecked the instructions, there are only 2 hoses that could be effed up, but they were installed according to instructions, but double check the install to the instructions. I hate you.

swap the two vac lines on top of the fuel rail and reset the system. That should be all it takes. The directions they come with suck.

Oh really? We have switched a few vac hoses around. AEM instructions say to completely bypass that black box thats on the frame portion under the hood.
We ran them back through that and was good for a day, then bam check engine again. Honda said the rotary acv could have been blown if hooked up improperly the first time, does this sound logical or should it just be a stupid hose in the wrong spot? Again any help is great, thanks a lot.:hi: |
I doubt it. I hooked up mine wrong several times trying to get it right. The little white check valve also has to be facing the right way. That alone can trigger the cel. When I get home ill look at it and tell you how it should be hooked up. Its just a vacuum switching valve hooking it up wrong shouldn't harm anything and just switching your intake should not have damaged it.
