So I have a jdm d16a6 can I use the stock jap intake and if so should I? Also I know they rev higher, will I need to mod my ecu or should I just be fine with the stock d16y7 ecu.

Wrong ecu. Everything else leave as is!!

What year is the car? I assume it's 96+ if your talking about using the y7 ecu. If that is the case you will need to run an obd1 ecu like a p06 using a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness. If you want to change rev limit to match the stock d16a6 rev limit. You can use a chipped p06 setup for your engine.
