bone stock auto civic gear selecting..
 

so never had a problem with this car before but today leaving the store i started the car and couldnt shift out of park.. i shut it off, used the shift lock to put it in neutral. the i restarted the car and it drove just fine..

why is it getting stuck in park??

Brake pedal switch loose possibly.

or bad one... no brake lights either..

replaced... 28.xx$. now the car works perfect again thanks

Check your shifter interlock above your drivers kick panel.

read above posts... the brake sensor was shorting out/went bad.. i tested it then replaced it and boom now i have brake lights and it gear selects just fine.. thanks for the info though.
