Cylinder 1 intermittent Issues

Ok ladies and gents need some help/ideas

Car
97 Integra

Motor
LSV B16 head/b18b bottom end

Dizzy:
OBD2 LS

ECU
obd2 - obd1 jumper (bbn)
P06 converted ecu socketed with a B16 map

Issue:
While driving the car sputters.
From what i gathered so far its only on cylinder #1
I started noticing a slight hesitation a week ago but not a complete sputter,
Its very intermittent, sometimes it does it alot and other times its doesnt happen at all.
Ive wiggled wires around and nothing.

I pulled the wire harness last night and inspected it.

I saw the that the brown wire for cylinder 1 was smashed exposing wires. How that happened idk. I removed the damged areas and soldered it back together. inspected the rest of the harness and saw no visial issues. Put it back on. Still the same issue. I bypassed the brown wire, i hooked up a wire directly to ecu and and straight to injector. Still the same issue.
Checked spark plug wire, and even replaced spark plug wire, No change,
Changed out fuel injector still the same.
I even put my obd2 p75 ecu and it does it aswell.

What more can i check? Can the dizzy be going out? I replaced the dizzy cap with an oem one and no diff.

ngk plugs oem cap rotor, ngk spark plugs.

I wanted to think dizzy bu i didnt think the dizzy would only affect 1 cylinder. i have an obd1 dizzy i guess i can test. i just have to repin the darn thing

cbaracing 03-02-2015 02:03 PM

im so dizzy my head is spinning. like a whirlwind it never ends. :flush:

cbaracing 03-02-2015 02:03 PM

please dont "repin" the distributor

just swap the ignitor and coil and see if that cures the problem :smileyR:

4dr_ed3 03-02-2015 02:35 PM

ill try that out on the dizzy distribulator.

cbaracing 03-02-2015 02:36 PM

its distribunator if you really want to get technical about it :-p

Chuck Chainz 03-02-2015 02:54 PM

Did as cba told me like the good boy that i am. still had the issue. Decided to pull the plugs finally to inspect them. Should have done that from the begining. There was some slush on all my spark plugs., it was like a mixture of oil and water slush. I did spray down the motor recently . didnt think any water got down the tube. Cleaned off slush and put the plugs back in. Drove all the way to tempe and back with no sputer or issue.

Only other thing im trying to figure out now is my dumb coolant temp sensor is either bad or something aint right. sometimes it shows the motor is cold after 30 min driving. other times it shows normal temp. never shows over heating.

Thermostat stuck open?

cbaracing 03-03-2015 02:47 PM

see lack of information is the undoing of us all. shit i could have told you what the problem was had you said "hey i hosed down my engine and engine bay" at that point i would have said "oh well you got shit in the cylinders and its fouling the plugs. been there done that" with that in mind my first post was plugs wires cap rotor. check in that order :bolt:

cbaracing 03-03-2015 02:48 PM

nah he probably put the 160 degree coolant in there and needs to move up to the 240 degree coolant. cant ever expect it to warm up with the lower degree stuff. noobs i swear :smackself:

You have no idea how dumb I felt. I still have to re-wrap my harness correctly all because of this. I literally wasted so much time and effort on something simple.

I boil my coolant first than pour it in the radiator.

at least you no longer have a crushed brown wire

LS-S DA9 03-03-2015 05:57 PM

Really?? Never done that never had a problem. Still don't mean the thermostat is good..
