Ok so I have this surround sound system

Now what I want to know is how can I hook up my PS3 to it to get the surround to work with it while playing games or movies & ect.

best option for sound is fiber optic audio cable - can be found at walmart or target etc...

ok so then from there what do i do with the surround sound? As far as do i have to put it on AUX or what? how will it work?

yeah, it would be av1 opt according to page 35 of the manual :)

I tried that and it didnt work, but I got it to work using the red and white audio cable

thats only anolog , you need to use remote to get in the setting to activate the digital connection

X2 but you'll have to have your surround on if you want to hear anything. once you change to the optical out no sound runs through HDMI or analog wires to your tv

you have to change the settings on your ps3. go to sound settings and choose optical
as for your reciver, it should say optical as well (on the back) plug it in and it should work

I had same problem, u need to hook up the optic audio cable from sorround sound to tv. then u click on the AUX on the surround sound till u get "digital in" or somewere along those lines, let a couple seconds go by and sound should pop right into ur speakers

to get real surround sound u ned a spdif or optical cable. thats the only way. u place the speaking making a x and the center speaker in fron of the tv


now if u have this input idk u have to look and optical cable is the best way to do but their expensive but its the only true surround sound format really and spdif if digital that the surround sound unit reads and redistrubutes. if the reciever isnt that great it wont do a good job but using a optical cable will give u what the ps3 is putting out. and ps3 dont have spdif output any ways.
