2 tone paint job
Going to paint one of my cars 2 tone, black and white. Hardline color change, no fade. How to I transition from one color to the other without a raised or noticable line?
Would like to have one smooth glossy surface across the 2 colors. Want to avoid having: paint one color over the other leaving an overlap taped off line or Paint up to tape line, and swap tape and paint to other color, which might leave a gap, or lifted edge at the transition. Thoughts, ideas????? |
u know if u paint it u cant be the rattle can ricer any more ;)

I have 4 civics, the rattle can sol will probably be the last one painted LOL
Sad thing is though, I removed most of the rice that came on the car, short of the racing stripes and the Chrome altezza taillights that I put on, I am almost rice free  |
Use a base/clear and you wont have any problems
Use 3M fine line tape, not masking tape, which will somethimes let paint get under it. Pull the tape off just as soon as you shoot it to let the edge 'relax' You might talk to the paint store and see if you can hit the edge with a scotch brite pad before you clear it. Basically, minimize the edge, then bury it in clear. Color sanding will take out any residual line in the topcoat |
x2 best way to do
