Track management needs to advise all persons who planned on attending the July 29th Test & Tune and/or the July 30th Summit Series Team Race #8 that the races have been postponed.* The entire Team Race 8 format has been rescheduled for September 17th with gates opening at 3 PM.

The track has spent the last two weeks working on issues concerning the Compu-Link timing system;* replacing*some of the suspected*trouble makers;*”in the ground” hardware this weekend*actually exposed a*computer chip/motherboard issue.* As many of you know*George Camp and the race control staff have done a fabulous job of keeping the timing system up and running to expectations with an*occasional*bump,*but the race competition was always completed.

In the best interest of the racers, fans, and the fairness of competition, the track management has elected to send the Compu-Link computer to Compu-Link in Colorado to insure we have a totally stable and reliable system for all concerned.* The situation is one beyond our*abillity to repair “on site”.

We apologize*for any*inconvenience this situation may cause the racers and fans, however*we know that when the computer system is returned we will have the very best in drag racing timing systems delivering accurate information.

*We will post updates regarding this scenario prior to the next scheduled race date of August 12 – FRIDAY Test N Tune, as we do not have an estimated date/time in which the repaired system will be returned to SIR.
