B20b vs. B20z8?
a guy is selling my a nice good working b20z8 of a crv. is there any differance between the b20z and the b20b?
b20z = newer, more compression, and more torque
dont know the exact amount not too much more tho |
slap a type-r head on it and have sum fun
so i should get it?
yes
x2
he wants to sell it for 600 with gauges but no tranny. but i have to go obd2 on my car to run that right?
never had to mess with that but i would think so, dont know if your planning on switching the head or not...or if that even would make a difference? I assume so.
i just keeping it b20 no vtec
you can run an obd0 b series distributor more than likely. but the best route would be to use a b20b distributor and switch over to obd1 as for the trans the crv ones are long geared and annoying. you'd be better off with a short geared b16 or an ls as a last resort. but they are pretty torquey motors for sure.
so i should go for it? all i need is a obd 1 ecu and distributor
vtec all the way bro...
yeah obd1 distributor, b-series trans and linkage, and an ecu but depends on what all your car is now and shit as far as wiring goes.
the b20 alone with a good trans (say b16 w/LSD) should put an EF into the 14's n/p. mid 14's probaby at best.
damn 14s?. i have a obd 0 ef.
go for it bro. build it :)
my friend has a b20/vtec in an eg.. he hit 13.6.. all he had was headers n intake..
i just stopped a b20b/b16a frank on my friend's crx. i have to say I'm VERY impressed. it pulls like a raped ape, specially in the top end. but then again, his set up is more than just that. many bolt ons, plus a fully tuned (just for that engine) OBD0 pr3. VERY rev happy. 9K like nothing. it has plently torque to keep you happy.
maybe i'll go vtec.
