My name is Emilee. I recently moved here from TN to go to medical school in Tempe. I used to auto-x and frequent the track back home. I currently own two Hondas, a '08 Si and a 97' Dx (my daily). I have hopes of one day turboing my Si, but being a broke college kid has delayed this a bit. I have gone to the track once here at Wild Horse, but it was dead, or maybe that's how it is in AZ? Anyhow, I would like to meet some people outside of school.

There's a few 8th gens in here.
Welcome to the site.

Expeditious 04-19-2014 06:56 PM

I am from Tennessee as well. Have you had the pleasure of enjoying a summer here?

91DAKID 04-20-2014 02:45 PM

I saw you rolling one night down apache i waived but then again new civic owners just kinda shrug when they see a 90s honda honda...

mar_phi6 04-20-2014 04:03 PM

Welcome to site. Be more active in here then you'll find out what's everyone will be doing.

twb901 04-20-2014 07:53 PM

Thanks guys!

Lol. I'm not a snob like that. I must not have been paying attention bc I don't remember anyone waving at me or else I would have waved back. Probably doesn't help that I'm a little blind also..

What part of TN? This will be my first summer here. Surely dry heat will be better than the obnoxious humidity back home.

Crono 04-20-2014 07:57 PM

I'm sure you'll love Arizona summers

Expeditious 04-20-2014 09:05 PM

McMinnville, about 1.5 hours south of Nashville.

That's the beauty of the heat. I would spend a full year of 100 degree whether in AZ before I would do the same in Tennessee. Just make sure to drink more water than you did back home.

BigCountry 04-20-2014 09:07 PM

I too am from Tennessee. Warren County. McMinnville. The summer here is pretty brutal lol

Wait till July August and September. Let us know what you think of Arizona heat. Lol!

twb901 04-20-2014 09:49 PM

I am pretty sure I can handle the heat. It's the water that is going to drive me insane! How the hell do you guys keep your cars spot free? I feel like I have to use a quick detailer after washing and drying my car.

I agree 110%. I had some friends that lived in Murfreesboro, so I was out that way often. It's pretty out there. I came from Memphis. I lived there entirely too long!

Fix.it.again.Tony 04-20-2014 10:21 PM

I've seen those pink wheels. Welcome.

There's only one other girl I've seen with a pink wheeled civic but she's in North phx

Expeditious 04-20-2014 11:06 PM

How small is this world? Could we know each other?

lexsnasty 04-20-2014 11:09 PM

They look red bro bro....

Fix.it.again.Tony 04-20-2014 11:16 PM

Really? Ok, in a Arizona year they'll be pink lol

A_integra1012 04-21-2014 03:49 AM

Lol true that

twb901 04-21-2014 06:22 AM

Lol. They are red. It's plastidip. I did it a few weeks ago to see if I liked it. It's probably going to come off soon anyway.

Spec C 04-21-2014 09:27 AM

That is pretty much the best option. I always wash, dry, then use a spray wax(DG aqua wax)..

However I just got a deionization tank which produces spot free water, but if you are in an APT that might not be an option.

Wait until it is 500 degrees out, and the water dries the second it touches your paint..lol

What medical program are you in?

twb901 04-21-2014 01:51 PM

Thanks for the suggestion! I think I will look into one of those tanks until summer. Do you prefer a particular system? I may pay someone reliable to clean my car then.

I am going to SCNM with the intent of becoming a doctor of naturopathic medicine.

Spec C 04-21-2014 03:59 PM

Yup. I use this company. Email Bill I have the larger tank that does 1000 gallons of water before needing to get swapped out. It's $10 a month rental and $70 when it needs to be changed.

I also have a good detailer who does mobile if you wanna go that route. One of the only people I'll let touch my cars paint other than myself. I'll pm you his contact info if you like.

twb901 04-21-2014 05:06 PM

Sweet! Thanks! Yeah you can PM me the info if he's good. I tend to be very particular about who does what to my car.

BigCountry 04-22-2014 12:19 AM

LOL You tell me. My actual name is Jordan Rumage.

Expeditious 04-22-2014 01:04 AM

Yes, I think we officially met through Brandon Hillis. My name is Kennith Hillis.

Sorry twb911, I just realized how rude this is. Sorry for the intrusion on your welcome thread.

BigCountry 04-22-2014 01:13 AM

I'll be damned... lol it is a small world.

Welcome to the forum! If you're in Chandler then you should consider coming out to this meet held every thursday at Ray Rd and Cooper Rd, 727 W Ray Rd Gilbert, AZ 85233. People start meeting up around 6. Everyone that comes out is fairly chill and it's a good time.

twb901 04-24-2014 05:15 PM

Thanks! I probably won't be able to make it out until next time because I have 2 exams on Monday, but next week I'd be down to join!

You have to show me the D before the "teats" come out of my shirt. It's just a rule. Lol.
