rim question.

alright guys I am ordering new wheelss soon
and have a couple questions,

the rim choice is 15.7 4x100 plus 35 and 15.7 4x100 plus 42

which rim has the bigger lip??

I want a bigger lip on my rim. so lmk thanks

The President 08-27-2008 12:23 PM

+35 will more than likely have the larger lip, however; the lip still won't be "that big". if you want a lip get something thats like +15, or if you have the suspension/camber for it, get +0.

FUK JDM 08-27-2008 12:23 PM

What wheel is it.....

SexyHatchie 08-27-2008 12:26 PM

ALL OVER it. lol.

FUK JDM 08-27-2008 12:34 PM

well...

its pretty hard to answer that question without knowing what wheel it is..lol

ILIKETODRIVE 08-27-2008 01:02 PM

Yup.

PS - shouldn't this be in the wheel/tire/suspension/etc area in the Tech forum?

The President 08-27-2008 01:03 PM

regardless of the wheel, won't a lower offeset create more of a lip or have a more concave face?

ILIKETODRIVE 08-27-2008 01:06 PM

Nope. You can get Team Dynamics wheels in 15x7 4x100 and either +35, +40, or +45 offset and they all have the same basic face and design.

The President 08-27-2008 01:12 PM

hmm, didn't know that but, i can see them being fairly similar considering there is only a 10mm difference.

FUK JDM 08-27-2008 02:09 PM

As Simon stated not in all cases.

10mm sometimes can play a HUGE difference in the wheel, again it would depend on the type of wheel. For the most part, that offset is too high for any kind of "lip" or concaveness, I know the TEs dont go into the concave look till about a +22.

The President 08-27-2008 02:12 PM

Concave TE's look soooo good!

JDM BOII 08-27-2008 03:00 PM

they ar buddy club P1s.. sf style

FUK JDM 08-27-2008 03:12 PM

I dont think you wont notice the difference in the lip in either set up. The one with the lower offset will just sit with more of the "flush" look which looks better imo.

JDM BOII 08-27-2008 05:51 PM

so go with 35?

Nate_AP1 08-27-2008 06:27 PM

15s are small?

15's with low offsets will make it look like daytons :(

ILIKETODRIVE 08-27-2008 06:37 PM

ILIKETODRIVE 08-27-2008 07:06 PM

Yes, they're OEM BMW wheels.

However, I posted it because you said this:

and the whole time we were only talking about a +35 offset, which is far from low. That pic of the EK looks like (at most) a +15 offset.

Nate_AP1 08-27-2008 07:21 PM

apologies - as my 'low' is like +45 :(

to the OP, 16's sure wouldn't hurt tho :)

JDM BOII 08-27-2008 11:09 PM

16s on a crx... no thank you

crx88 08-27-2008 11:13 PM

x2.. stay 15's! :tits:

ILIKETODRIVE 08-27-2008 11:35 PM

Yeah, S2K's are waaay different. When I found out +45 was a good offset for them I was like waaaaaahhh?

FUK JDM 08-28-2008 09:21 AM

You can push a lil more then that..of course youre going to have to pull and roll but it will look gangster :lmao:. No one does under 45 on my car and im planning on doing way lower then 45...

Chinky 08-28-2008 09:25 AM

i hear they don't make low off set te's in 16's ? :(

JDM BOII 08-29-2008 08:51 AM

thanks for help guys... im gunna order my rims next week

FUK JDM 08-29-2008 09:21 AM

How low are you looking for? Depending on how patient you are it could happen...lol

Chinky 08-29-2008 09:24 AM

enough for a concave look... but not all crazy i'm not trying to rock that -26 lol just love dipped te's

FUK JDM 08-29-2008 10:03 AM

Well the concave look starts at about a +22, But ill ask to make sure thats something you can get in a 16x7/8.

Chinky 08-29-2008 10:35 AM

that would be dope thanks!

FUK JDM 09-03-2008 04:35 PM

16X7+33 is the lowest they go in 4 & 5 lug.
