Best way to take glue off paint?

I just debadged my car, and there is glue residue left over where they came off. What is the best way to to get it off without hurting the paint?

when i debadged my subaru i used bug and tar remover and it worked like a charm

crtEG6 03-27-2009 11:16 PM

or use goof off

crizzo 03-27-2009 11:24 PM

i didnt want to use goof off because it seems like theres some harsh chemicals in it, whereas bug and tar was made for cars

try the bug n tar but i have had good luck with Goo Gone. I dont think it is as harsh as goof off

I've used goo gone as well. multiple times, no adverse effects.

I have used goo gone with no problems as well. The chemicals wil remove the wax from your paint tho. It is a good idea to wax the area afterwards.

if you have a compressor use and eraser wheel and it will take it off quick but goof off should work or paint reducer or nail polish remover

eraser wheels are the shit they make it so much easier

Ev sanchez 05-13-2009 10:17 PM

1.goo gone
2.hot water
3.acetone

all of those should work.

how about adhesive remover?

Method520 05-18-2009 05:21 PM

good thread lol

Goo gone, alcohol, and a hair dryer. they worked well for me. the dryer heats up the glue to release it, and the alcohol and goo gone remove what is left.
