small looking cracks on clear coat I think

I have what looks like tiny cracks in the clear coat all over my hood and front bumper. Was just wondering if you guys thought I should just try using some polishing compound first or just go with a clay bar? or does anyone have a better idea. thanks

Oh and ill try to get pics later

Pictures first before any definite answer. Although I feel the need to ask to if you know what a clay bar does.... You you a clay bar to get "contaminants" of the top layers of finish. Pretty much strips all the polish off and you have to repolish... If the paint is indeed cracked, there's not much of anything you can do.

i got busy so I wasnt able to get pictures but Im not 100% if its actually clear coat cracking so I thought a clay bar could take this possible "contaminants" off. Ill get a picture tomorrow to try and clear up what Im talking about

hmm... does the tiny cracks look like "feathering" and it's underneath the clear coat? because i don't think polishing and or even extreme polishing will take those off maybe wet sanding or even worse repainting.

same shit showed up on my black sedan after I claybar'd it. Then I did a cut and finish polish on the whole body. She is shiny as shit but now I can see all the cracking spots and oxidation.

When the paint is cloudy and dull it hides all the blemishes. You can prolly get rid of some of it with wetsand. But are prolly better off getting it touched up at a shop. I need to do that when I save up enough cash and plan a trip to Cali.
