You took my Ideaaaaaa... its ok though I love you No homo.. jussayin:th_supergay: |
Got a new starter in an attempt to fix my no-start issue. (I took the old one to get it checked and it failed) Also got a new heater control valve, since my father broke the one that was on there while helping me. They are $50 at Checker, so I would recommend not breaking them if possible.
Got the starter installed, turned the key. Click. Nothing. Pulled it out, took to Checker, had it tested. Passed, got back home, re-installed it. Click. Nothing. Bump started it, ran fine. Tried jumping it on a friends suggestion. Started right up. Drove to Checker, had them test the battery. They said it needed charging, charged it, put it back in, turn the key. Click. Nothing. Click. Nothing. Click. Vroooom. Random passerby said it was my starter, and after being told it was brand new, said that it may be the starter relay. Anyone have any ideas, it's a little frustrating to say the least. And I'm having a hard time bonding with the car when I've had to fix it so often. |
this is for an EG don't know if its the same on an ef
starter interlock relay is mounted a bit above the main relay. You should find a cluster of three relays, the two closest to the rear of the car are for the moon roof, the one to the front of the car in the starter interlock relay. |
^ this is not likely.
A friend of mine has that same starting issue and we havnt figured it out yet. Put a few different starters on and it didn't help.
I tried to get rid of my knock sensor code that pops up after driving for a while and I'm having no luck. I wired it to the knock sensor and just grounded the wire which usually works for me but no luck. Time for obd1 |
Header in and got an exhaust rattle fixed. Next project will be tie rods and DA front sway bar.

Tap the steering column. Ignition switch electrical portion likes to recreate the same symptoms.
today i did my put new brake pads in up front and adjusted my camber kit all the way out. idk why my driver side was all the way in.
On the subject of camber kits, can anyone recommend a decent brand that is fairly cheap? I need a front and rear camber kit for my car but I'm not really sure which brands are decent and where I can order them from.
there are a few different ones out there. i have never had a problem with any personally. some say the adjustible 4 piece kits that have 2 peices that mount to each of the upper control arms brake easy. the only time i saw one broken is when somone hit a curb and broke it.
there is another type that i got on my crx that looked like it was a custom balljoint that you woud press into the control arm and the balljoint actually sat out farther than where it mounted fixing the camber issue. right now i have the skunk 2 setup with the sliding balljoint setup and it works great. it adjusts it all the way out but not too far to where the control arm hits the strut tower (depending on how low you are) suck at explaining things but what im trying to say is they all work fine in my experience. you get what you pay for though. |
drove it to work and home and went to look at a guys slips i might trade.... ;)
Finally fixed my spedo cable it was a bitch to take out cuz of that box above the gas pedal dose any one know what that is
I got the Skunk2 upper a arms and the BWR rear kit. The BWR ones do their job although the Skunk2 rear kit is better quality but higher price.
i too have the front skunk2 arms, but my rears are megan and they've held up well these past 3 years.
Thanks for the input everyone. I'm tired of going through tires quickly so I think this will be next on the list.
toe eats tires more than camber
every honda that i get that has a camber kit on it i rip it off and sell it to someone who "needs" it to "keep" their tires good. ha ha so i guess you can say i keep perpetuating the myth get an alignment and get the toe set to zero rotate your tires every other oil change keep a close eye on the tires and get them flipped when you start to see some inner wear i can make a set of 195/50/15 tires last a year and half on a lowered honda with this setup |
^ the thomas gets it done on the cheap
Thanks for the head's up Chris. I had an alignment done recently so I'll check out the toe specs.
your toe is perfect trust me
Yes, I remember us having this conversation now. Thanks for helping me out that day.
