ECU question

Before I posted this I made sure to go through and dig for as much information as I possibly could. However I have a rather unique issue it is not easily found anywhere that I have looked on the net.

1. I have a 96 Prelude S and from the vin it originally came with an H23 engine. The engine that was in the vehicle was an F22a1. The engine was blown so I was able to find an F22a6 out of a 92 Accord. I will play with this for the time being. I have come to realize the the pitfalls of not only the 96 Prelude (last year of the body style/ first of obd2) but also one with an f22 in it.

2. I have done a bit of reading and research since starting this project and to add to the fun of the a6 I added an H23 plenum.

Now my question is, I pulled the ecu out of the car and it seems to be the original (style) ecu in that it is a P14/obd2.
My thinking is that since the P14 was made for that year Prelude it should work. I have been told that can and should put either a P28 or P72 in it. At some point I probably will as my long term goal is to build a forced induction with the engine laying in my garage.

Anyhow, if I might get some pointers it would be very appreciated.
As a side note, this is not my first build. I have been built VW street rods and bajas since the late 70's. This is just my first Honda.

TIA

if youre keeping it stock right now run a obd2a f22 ecu, if you plan on having the ability to tune it down the road you will need to use a obd2a-obd1 jumper harness along with an obd1 civic/teg ecu.
