0W oil?
anyone use that 0W-30 oil? i read that this "multi-viscosity" oil is basically good for all seasons, hot cold, and high load conditions. any opinions?

first number is how long it takes to warm up, second is how hot it can get before it thins.
|
i use amsoil 0w-30 in my h22 and it works great. one of the best oils you could have just a little pricey.
|
0w indicates the thickness(flow rate) of the oil at freezing. 30 is the thickness at operating temperature. thats it. in az theres no reason to run a zero weight. And Even a 30 is kinda thick for any newer honda with their tighter tolerances. run what your sticker or manual says unless you are pushing serious numbers or driving in alaska during the winter
|
Way wrong. First number is viscosity at winter temp, second is viscosity at 100 degrees Celsius.
0 weight oil is unnecessary here. Just use what the engine manufacturer suggests. |
thats what i thought, i just went and got 10w-30. tried and tested. i dont drive a honda btw. just asking as general engine knowledge. thanks peepz

10-30 is good for just about any well broken in engine, i run it in everything, its plentiful, lol
