Possible solution?

Im thinking of running some brand new subs/amp that I have laying in my room in my truck, but Im not too familiar with the Ohm laws and what not.

Would it be possible to run my Alpine MRP-M1000 at 8 ohms? Im trying to run two Alpin Type-E SWE-1242.

Heres the link to the amp:

Heres the link to the subs:

I was told to either run them at 8ohms and that would be fine, but I dont know the first thing about wiring them up for that load. Also, I heard I can wire them up to have a 2ohm load since they are both 4ohm and about 250 watts RMS.

Any input would help. thx

pos on sub to pos on sub to pos on amp. and the same on the neg will run in 2 ohm

pos on amp to pos on sub then neg on sub to pos on other sub then neg on second sub to amp neg will be 8 ohm

that might be hard to understand.. Pictures help :)

and that sub/amp combo i would run at 8ohm (if the amp can do 8 it should) 2ohm would be ~1000watts might hurt speakers or maybe 2ohm and gain all the way down

okay you can run the subs at 8 ohms if you want them to be louder wire them to 4 ohms or even 2 no lower then 1 tho you can only do that if ur amp is 1 ohm steady you will know cause the amp will say it. it also depends on if its in a trunk hatch or truck and the type of box if the box is sealed do 4ohm sealed box means better sq sound quality if you have a ported box you lose sq but its louder so 8 ohms will be fine if you need help wiring i could give you a hand. i work at absolute sound systems.....

That amp will run @ 1 ohm, but please don't do it. If you decide to run those subs on that amp at anything but 8 ohms, please turn your gain down. That amp is way more power than those subs can handle... about 2 times their RMS rating.

I'd suggest running them @ 8 ohms so the amp will be putting out about 300W... Those subs can handle 250W RMS EACH, so you will b eUNDERpowering them, but it's better than OVER powering.

I have those same subs on a power acoustik LT980/2 (560W going into my 2 type E 12's) and they sound amazing. I've had that setup for 4 years. It's been in 2 of my cars, my brothers, and now my dads car.
