RSX vs S2K

which would u prefer..a 2004 rsx type s or a 2006 s2k roadster?
and tell me why?
thanks

monstercb7 09-01-2010 04:58 PM

Thats kinda a good one me personaly i would take the s2k less chances of people wanting to hop in and go for a spin cuz its only a two seater so unless its a girl say sorry it s takin lol but me i would take the (S2K). But for inscurance the 4d rsx type s would be cheaper

GunnRulF 09-01-2010 05:03 PM

those 4d rsx's are soooo dope.

JspecSi 09-01-2010 05:04 PM

lol

MeanMachine22 09-01-2010 05:06 PM

since im only 19 how much would the insurance be for the s2k compared to the rsx

Jstarda9 09-01-2010 05:08 PM

LOL. But really? Is that a question? The s2000 is the best car that Honda built besides the NSX

No other Honda touches it.

Handles like a dream

MeanMachine22 09-01-2010 05:09 PM

thats basically my problem..i dont think i could fit in it cause of my height...what u think?

Jstarda9 09-01-2010 05:22 PM

You won't fit.

asianricer69 09-01-2010 05:28 PM

MeanMachine22 09-01-2010 05:36 PM

thats gunna suck if i dont fit...what if i like customize the seating, like take out the seat and dont put it on the slider..cause i really want an s2k

nelsmar 09-01-2010 06:49 PM

your 19, get a stock civic :D.

Call your insurance dealer, S2000's do cost quite a bit to insure.

IMO S2000 performance hands down, lots of fun to drive in stock factor, has a great "feel" to it. HOnestly out of every car ive driven the S2000 is the most fun ive had. Even though its engine is smaller than many others, it just feels fun.

The RSX is much more rational, the S2000 is big enough to hold my camera gear.... and my wallet, it is very uncomfortable after 2-3 hours, the roof is ungodly warm in the summer (no insulation), the floor is hot from the exhaust, it is very expensive to maintain compared to an RSX (i run 700-900$ for a set of tires every 7,000-11,000 miles, and fluids alone set you back a bit).

If you have to ask the question, you shouldn't buy one. Go test drive both, and decide what YOU need in your life. Having 0 interior space is a HUGE PITA. I wouldn't normally recommend anyone buy an S2000. I personally love it!

MeanMachine22 09-01-2010 07:16 PM

thanks for the tip nelsmar

JDM Jon 09-01-2010 07:42 PM

What the hell? Really?
What kind of tires are you using? Staggered fitment?

s2k hands down my choice, but for you being so young insurance might rape your butthole.

Domada_Race 09-01-2010 07:54 PM

i would say RSX but i have kids!!! Now if i was single with no kids i would still go with a rsx as a DD and get a S2k and build the shit out of the motor and use it as a toy car only. But thats jus me

marksdc5 09-01-2010 08:13 PM

i really like s2k's but the only thing is that there so small. u would fit real tite being so tall. i like having the rsx ive wanted one since they came out and finally got it. its ur choice but make a good one be4 u sppend all that money on some ur not happy with

MeanMachine22 09-02-2010 12:41 AM

lets go this weekend mark and check out an s2k..there is one off of 22nd street

boostdek 09-02-2010 12:44 AM

rsx fo sho sho .. i think 2 seaters are for women/kinda gay...

MeanMachine22 09-02-2010 01:09 AM

i still think s2k's are badass lol

johnehonda 09-02-2010 01:19 AM

this is the only post thats matters.............i agree with this guy and i own an rsx

Nachooooosupreme 09-02-2010 05:09 AM

i would slightly disagree...the 3d gen preludes came with 4ws and in '87 road & track showed the 1988 Honda Prelude 2.0Si 4WS outperforming every car of that year....so i wouldnt necessarily say the 3d gen lude would outperform the s2k but i wouldnt say no other honda touches it neither!!!! and fyi the the successor to the prelude became the s2k (ironic no?) :argue:

Jstarda9 09-02-2010 09:05 AM

I hear you.

But here are the facts.

No prelude will touch an S2000

Stock vs Stock

1/4 mile
Track

And until you own a convertible you will understand how it sets it apart from a non convertible.

This car turns shitty days into heaven. Taking a drive up the 89 in an s2000 on a fall day with the top down is not the same in a Civic, Prelude, Integra... Don't get me wrong. I love all other Hondas but out of all my previous cars my s2000 is one that I can't ever see me getting rid of.

Jstarda9 09-02-2010 09:08 AM

No joke on the tires man.. I drive my s2000 about once a week or twice a month. I find myself buying new tires after about a year and a half...

Sucks you can't rotate them.

How are 2 seaters gay or for women? So you are telling me if someone handed you an s2000 you wouldn't take it?:th_supergay:

If s2000 are for gay people then I am a fucking homo.

JDM Jon 09-02-2010 09:52 AM

I still find it hard to believe the tires wear that fast from you driving it as much as you say?
Unless you drive hella far and burn out or something.

Could you rock the same sized tires front and rear? Maybe with a different rim setup?

Jstarda9 09-02-2010 09:54 AM

Just due to camber and toe.

No you can't. It would mess up the function of the car.

I run 225 front and 245 rears.

I used to have 225 front and 255 rears.

GunnRulF 09-02-2010 09:57 AM

Kinetic runs 255's all around. Different rim set up tho

nelsmar 09-02-2010 11:59 AM

its due to chamber and toe. And its a toy car... cmon. I bought it for fun, if im in it im probably having fun, not buying groceries. Yes its my daily drive but i work at home, the store is 1/2 mile away, so any driving bend that is fun. I love a good time in the canyon, and the car is just a joy whenever the road has a bend in it. The way the car is setup the rear end will break ever so slightly loos during aggressive turning, or one wheel will slip during turning. This wears out the rears very fast. Look at an S2000 stance vs a civic, there is a noticeable difference in camber.

Also im not buying commuter tires for my S, i prefer a sticky soft compound as again, its a fun car, not a commuter lol. So i usually go with something like an azenis RT-615, which is fairly soft. The stock RE01's or whatever are a lot stiffer and last 11-15k. But they are really loud and IMO way over priced, ide rather buy a cheaper stickier tire.

I am on toyo's right now (ALL i could find in stock anywhere and i was in a pinch). I bet these suckers will last 14k or so... HAHA itl be my longest set of tires ever!

nelsmar 09-02-2010 12:01 PM

225 front FTW, DIE STAGGER DIE!!!!! lol :bigok:

deely7 09-02-2010 12:34 PM

im 19 and i have a 05 RSX type S and i pay $303 a month insurance
so you should check insurance, that will be a huge factor in your choice
