Nice man, might want to work with the brightness with a ND filter maybe or get a CP Filter to darken it abit and get rid of reflections to bring out the color. Get a little lower and dont be afraid to get real clost to fill the frame up.

Just some random tips for next time if you want to try them out. Good shots though.

honduh_head 08-06-2011 05:36 PM

Ya thanks but I don't care enough to do any of that.

infamous91 08-06-2011 05:42 PM

nice turn out.

pat_ernzen 08-06-2011 08:34 PM

Not really, haha. But then, it is August. Kinda glad I didn't get up at six to head out there. :p

honduh_head 08-06-2011 11:19 PM

die in a dick fire noob 08-07-2011 05:36 PM

haha yeah man just some tips from the pro here...

your response was priceless, thank you for making my night.

honduh_head 08-07-2011 06:07 PM

Haha ya man. I forgot that I had to please the pros on here.

pat_ernzen 08-08-2011 10:59 PM

I was at the first one (and the first SECC one, which hasn't been around in years) and didn't miss one for the first 2+ years. Rarely make it out anymore, though. Think a couple guys from work were out there, but I don't see their cars. I do, however, think I've seen basically every one of those cars many times and know many of their owners pretty well, haha.

Nachooooosupreme 08-08-2011 11:05 PM

Looks like a good way to get out and use some camera skills.

Nice turn out and some cool pics!!

nelsmar 08-09-2011 10:40 AM

No reason to change your pics, i need to get out to one of these ggrrrr, its always when I'm out of town on work.

And uh what... ND? You know what is cheaper & easier to do than using an ND filter to darken the photo? Adjust shutter & aperture. Why do people keep talking about using ND filter's. Im really surprised how many people thing it does anything more than darken the photo, just like you would with shutter. The only time you would ever need an ND is to slow down the photo, or if you are using strobes with a set flash duration so you can drop your DOF down again and over power ambient. (this wasn't pointed at you obviously brad).

honduh_head 08-09-2011 11:22 AM

wurd no worries. my 50mm has taken a shit on me and was acting goofy...hence the shit shots. that and i really don't give a fuck, as you know first hand haha. next time i'll have my 35mm on me (lent it to garcia for the weekend) and it'll be a lot better.

nelsmar 08-09-2011 01:38 PM

garcia has a nikon??

honduh_head 08-09-2011 03:54 PM

he's been borrowing a d40 for a while.

nelsmar 08-09-2011 03:55 PM

He never even mentioned it to me. Im a little hurt deep down inside. I just went out for a beer with him :(

honduh_head 08-09-2011 03:56 PM

i'm surprised he didn't take a shot of you! haha. i think i talked him into getting the 35mm. its such a killer lens for the price. especially just for walking around and shooting random crap

nelsmar 08-09-2011 04:03 PM

Yeah man i love my 35, i don't use it much these days but its a killllerrr lens. <3 primes. I am looking at picking up an 85mm to broaden my prime range a bit :P

honduh_head 08-10-2011 09:47 AM

thats a good idea ^ i want that, and a decent wide angle and i'm doooonnnnnneeeee. for a long long while.

nelsmar 08-10-2011 12:58 PM

Def happy with the 85. I wanted something for portraits to really crush the BG and give good contrasting bokeh. Ive only fired a few shots with it but I'm reallyyyy glad i grabbed it.

honduh_head 08-10-2011 02:07 PM

i just want nice, crisp photos...i don't really give a fuck about anything else. and its hard to get that with kit lenses without tons of noise. (with my cameras anyway)

nelsmar 08-10-2011 02:20 PM

Light does it. But it depends on what you see is as being crisp. Contrasting light to add edge sharpness makes things sharp. As well as contrasting DOF from using a long fast zoom such as an 85mm on a 1.5/1.6x crop. Having the car in 100% focus and the background blurred out nicely will make the image "pop" and give it added sharpness, which is why I've been wanting a fast zoom.

Ive been realllyyy happy with my wide angle shots as of late but I've been using sharp angled lights to add a rim light etc to really sharpen them. I am starting to realize its less and less about the quality of glass giving what i always thought as a "sharp" photo.

honduh_head 08-10-2011 02:27 PM

never thought of it that way... thanks for the input. not sure if i'll ever use it, since i'm not really that great of a photog, but if it ever comes up i'll try to put that to use... somehow ... haha

vtectanner 08-29-2011 10:25 PM

Love the pictures...what camera and lens were you using?

nelsmar 08-29-2011 11:06 PM

^^ he mentioned using a 50mm that was having some problems.

honduh_head 08-30-2011 07:00 AM

yes thank you ^

deely7 10-11-2011 02:38 AM
