Need some advise on DD B20v build!!!!

Whats going on AZHT members,
I am going to be building a b20v B16 head DAILY DRIVER here in the next couple months.
This will be my first full build and i just have a couple questions for you guys.

I plan on running a N/A build and im looking to see at least 250WHP,
I know im gonna have to build the motor, pistons, valves, cams, springs and retainers, so on and so forth, i would like to have it tuned on 91 pump gas do not wanna have to run on E85,

With that being said i know i probably shouldnt go higher then 11,5:1 correct me if i am wrong.?

Now what would you guys recommend piston wise i was doing some reading and saw that RS pistons are good and they are a cast metal appose to the silicone pistons.

Just would like to have some input on the build like i said this is gonna be my first full on MOTOR BUILD,
What are the best and most reliable pistons for this aplication
Cams?
Valves? Should i do high comp valves? Leave valves the same size as stock?
Springs?
Should i mill the head a mm or 2? have heard a lot about P2V clearance
Will stock 1.8L Ls rods work with this setup? i read that the ls rods are lightweight and can handle up words to 400hp?
I know a lot of people on here have done this successfully and would just like to hear some of your opinions and what you guys have done.

I really appreciate all the input i get on this and need as much info you guys can offer.
Thanks a lot AZHT!!
:drive: :you rock:

250whp???

kguerrero 10-01-2013 04:21 PM

Sounds like you want someone to spoon feed you info. Do more research before attempting this please

AZ_CIVIC 10-01-2013 05:02 PM

If you are looking for tech advice join Honda-Tech. They have tons of tech help, builds, and a lot of guys who know what they are talking about. I have actually seen a few B-Series NA builds in the drag racing section on HT with 300 plus WHP builds in the past few weeks.

AZHT is a for sale website..

C.R.A.Y. 10-01-2013 05:02 PM

should take 30-50hp out of your goal to make it realistic

Jdm_Da9IGS 10-01-2013 05:28 PM

I have been doing research that's all I have been doing.
Don't really need someone to build my car for me just looking for people
That have done the same type of build and looking for some input, that's all

mr.DUNK 10-01-2013 05:42 PM

B series

Ls /b20block
Sleeved
86mm 14+ comp
Grp rods
4piston racing ported head
Big cams
Good header
Itbs or good manifold

250 should be easy with that.

93da6 10-01-2013 06:00 PM

I have the bissi v2 prototype header and crane cams stage 3 all motor if you need some where to start :-)

Boosted1987 Integra
Weekend warrior-2011 SS
Under construction- LAUSANNE GREEN PEARL RHD DA

Jdm_Da9IGS 10-01-2013 06:07 PM

I realize that 250 is pretty high.
I'm think about doing 84.5mm rs high comp pistons
With shot peened Ls rod.
What do you guys think about skunk2 valve train and maybe s2 cams?
Appreciate all the input guys

Fix.it.again.Tony 10-01-2013 06:37 PM

This sounds like a sneaky wtb thread

Jdm_Da9IGS 10-01-2013 07:01 PM

No def not looking to buy right now (BROKE)

mr.DUNK 10-01-2013 08:51 PM

Ls rods with arp rod bolts will be fine

Skunk pro 1s are decent.

Youll make 215-225sh with that setup

S!K TEG 10-02-2013 07:17 AM

What crank will you be using?

C.R.A.Y. 10-02-2013 07:42 AM

Ls rods.... I'd hope an ls crank.

S!K TEG 10-02-2013 02:20 PM

Damn you. I wanted to see if he said gsr/b16

Jdm_Da9IGS 10-02-2013 02:31 PM

Gotta love it when your looking for advise and people wanna make fun of you!!!
Just cuz it's my first motor build doesn't mean I'm stupid guy!!

Jdm_Da9IGS 10-02-2013 02:33 PM

That's one thing I was wondering are the b20 and Ls crank the same or are there differences?
And I don't have to use a Ls crank if I use Ls rods do i?

Jdm_Da9IGS 10-02-2013 02:34 PM

What are your guys opinion on BC cams

S!K TEG 10-02-2013 02:42 PM

I want to see if you actually looked into building the motor. But by you asking about match ls rods answered my question.

Jdm_Da9IGS 10-02-2013 04:06 PM

Well atleast I know that you can't get on azht without some douche being a douche.
Simple questions and have no answer cuz people like YOU don't know how to give simple answers
If I wanted you smart remarks that weren't gonna help me pretty sure I wouldn't be on here!
Thanks for the advise though buddy lol! I can clearly see I'll be better off doing research myself.

jakellama123 10-02-2013 04:10 PM

go to honda tech then.
Half the people here are stupid and can't even form a sentence. The other half, like myself, are here just to insult people to keep us amused at work

Jdm_Da9IGS 10-02-2013 04:32 PM

Good to know that you guys don't have anything better to do then make fun of people that need help
Good job guys pat your self on the backs.

jakellama123 10-02-2013 04:45 PM

Fix.it.again.Tony 10-02-2013 04:45 PM

*pats myself on the back*

jakellama123 10-02-2013 04:46 PM

S!K TEG 10-02-2013 04:54 PM

Around they only way to get help is show that you already looked into, but cant figure it out. Something that can be googled like what crank work with ls rods should have been done in research.

Plus, nobody comes to azht for help. They come for the wts threads or the humor.

Jdm_Da9IGS 10-02-2013 06:18 PM

Close thread.

Nachooooosupreme 10-02-2013 06:25 PM

Pink will be pink

S!K TEG 10-02-2013 08:25 PM

A wise old man once told me.... they are all pink in the inside.

Looks like an other person couldn't deal with azht. Looks like he wont be around anymore.

king06 10-03-2013 07:59 AM

Go through it should give you lots of ideas. It all comes down to money.

cbaracing 10-03-2013 09:39 AM

sheep balls

Jdm_Da9IGS 10-03-2013 12:31 PM

Thanks buddy. I know I plan on it being anywhere from 4-8 grand build so I'm willing to spend that just wanna make sure it's all right and is reliable.

Fix.it.again.Tony 10-03-2013 01:21 PM

that's a lot of money to spend on such little power

MIRANDA88 10-03-2013 01:22 PM

I agree

pr1nc3s5 10-03-2013 01:30 PM

There are so many ways to build this its not even funny just copy someone else's build on b20v.com finished.

That budget will get you a really nice built motor... If your serious and when you have the cash send me a PM and I can give you a bunch of contacts to call for the block work and head work down to all the parts you will need.

Best advice is to go all out, take your time and build a good race car that you can take out for cruises here and there but use it mainly for the track.

Buy a good DD and leave it stock, life is so much easier when you have a reliable car.

king06 10-04-2013 06:30 AM

Your welcome.

The motor on my avatar made a little over 260 on race gas. Hope it keeps your hopes high... lol

AZ_CIVIC 10-11-2013 08:00 AM

Hey man I was cruising around on HT and saw this link... This should really give you an idea of what you could do.. This set up really shouldn't cost more then 3 to 4k

The guy made 240whp on a very basic setup with pump gas... for his daily driver..

I mean 11.5 compression on RS pistons, stock sleeves.. 82mm
stock rods and crank

Colten79 10-11-2013 08:39 PM

I know this the typical thing for a k guy to say, but if you have the funds for it, is there any reason why you wouldn't do a k swap? A k20z3 with DC drop in cams, tb and nice header will see 245+ whp and drive like stock.

Gawd damn.. nice find

AZ_CIVIC 10-13-2013 08:43 AM

If I was going to run an all motor setup and was starting from scratch I would go with a K setup..
