when my fingers said it wasnt gonna ctrl c and ctrl v 131 times lol

55 to 60, i think my f stop was at like 13

TYC 07-05-2010 08:51 PM

It was actually only f6.3.....but that's not what got it. It was shot at 1/125sec. I guess I've never tried shooting that fast to see if I'll get enough wheel blur but I know now. I usually just shoot at 1/60sec regardless and adjust my f stop to fix the rest.

e2blade 07-05-2010 11:05 PM

from what ive experienced, wheel spin starts at around 1/160, didnt check the exif lol

The President 07-05-2010 11:20 PM

just an fyi, imo that XXmph = 1/XX Shutter speed thing is total b/s. Check out some of my rolling shots on flickr. they're between 1/40th all the way up to 1/5th.

ChrisIsYoung 07-05-2010 11:26 PM

blah blah blah... who the fuck cares! pictures are fucking pictures... lol you fuckers are:lame:

e2blade 07-06-2010 12:42 AM

who cares about rolling shots, thats not even the new hot thing now adays :)

TYC 07-06-2010 12:56 AM

Not sure what you're trying to say but I never said anything about how xxmph = 1/xx shutter speed. I just know what works for me and thought I'd share it. I also found it cool how he can still get wheel blur shooting at 1/125 as I have never shot pass 1/80.

e2blade 07-06-2010 01:04 AM

1/30 is for ballers, if you even hold it steady. lol

The President 07-06-2010 06:42 AM

I was just throwing my .02 cents out there. I just know the "general rule of thumb" and thought that maybe you'd like to know what works best for me.

I don't think I've ever even attempted to shoot 1/125 or higher for something like that. I bet you can probably get some decent wheel/bg blur with that shutter speed out of a panning shot though.

TYC 07-06-2010 09:45 AM

You quoted me so I thought you were reffering that "rule of thumb" to me.

The President 07-06-2010 09:54 AM

nope, sorry if it came off that way. I also use aperture to control exposure though. That's the cool thing about rolling shots. It doesn't matter what your dof is since everything is just being blured anyways. Well, as long as the car is in focus.

e2blade 07-06-2010 11:48 AM

yawn.
