How many coats of clear?
 

I'm repainting my car on Tuesday and was wondering what you guys would recommend for the number of coats of clear for max shine without blocking the basecoat.

if u got primer on the car... or bare metal ... prime 1st, wetsand, sealer coat, (2) median basecoats, (2) median clear coats

3 coats of clear if you plan on sandin and buffing

normally on standard paint jobs you would only need 2 coats of clear. most people think that more is better....it is not...the more coats you lay down, the more problems you might havein the future. typically one of the problems would be de-lamination of the clear....

2 coats min.
3 coats max
