im thinking of picking up a different set of wheels for DD, i got a few rock chips on the advans and id like to keep them in good condition, i dont want to spend a ton of money.. so i been thinking of picking of a set of Rota D2, id hate to rock fake wheels but also want to preserve my advans, what u guys think?
or i can just pick up a set of stock BBS wheels

Type - O 02-04-2008 08:13 AM

as long as you understand that they are fake and are also prone to breaking then go for em

bmxican 02-04-2008 08:29 AM

rotas are fucking gay bro. go oem!

_$krilla_ 02-04-2008 08:37 AM

thanks guys, yup the breaking part is what worries me, id know they are fake and wouldnt care cause they would be DD

d4integra 02-04-2008 08:57 AM

I don't think there "prone" to breaking...

There have been a couple of horror stories ouot there about breaking rotas but most that i've heard is when the owner of the car is either tracking the car or running into shit. figure with how many sets of wheels they put out even if 2% of them break then you'd of course hear those stories. If you have 100,000 wheels in the market and 2,000 of them break, you have a 2% fail rate (which is VERY respectable) but that also creats 2000 bad stories that get plastered all over every forum on the web. I think rota's are fine to rock. I don't usually like them because everytime i see a honda it has rotas of some sort. maybe look into Drag wheels or something, possibly konig or even enkie. btw, the rota wheels that you have in the first post are pretty sick looking.

_$krilla_ 02-04-2008 10:06 AM

yeah i dont road race or drive over shit lol, id only have to worry about pot holes, i wish i could afford the work meisters but too much money for now the rotas are $750 MR BBS are about 1100.. and gsr enkeis are about 500

i personally love the stock enkies that come on the evos. if i were an evo ower i don't think i'd even buy rims.

_$krilla_ 02-04-2008 10:23 AM

bmxican 02-06-2008 12:33 PM

first of all rotas are not fake.
They are REAL WHEELS! just replica knockoffs of other wheels.

Real product! just shitty material they are made of.

tegmister 02-20-2008 11:37 PM

for dd. they are fine and look nice as well, get some if you want them.
I personally like them.

Rufus 03-11-2008 03:19 PM

I had never even heard about Rota's until I came to this website. Most of us are driving Hondas worth less than 10K. Who really cares if your wheels are "real"? So much status wrapped up into wheels when some of you have wheels worth 1/4 of your cars value.

arent they made by american racing wheels?

lude9701 04-06-2008 10:46 PM

i wouldnt care if they were real or not as long as they looked good on the car

JSNEK-9 06-12-2008 05:53 PM

hellz yeah back in hawaii everyone rocks rota

tito 06-13-2008 08:04 AM

no rotas...

slaytera666 06-13-2008 01:26 PM

I had Rota Slipstreams on my EVO as race wheels and they are awesome wheels. Light and cheap. I could give two shits if I cubed a Rota, but if I curbed a Volk or SSRs, I'd be effin pissed.

1lowtacoma 06-13-2008 01:30 PM

wow way to bring back another dead thread fag :idiot:

Rota wheels are not too bad depending on what ones you buy and what car and color and all the other obvious factors. But when it comes down to it, it is really only about what you like. Personally I do not like the particular wheels you are thinking about but Rota has some others that are pretty good.
